BEAUTIFUL PATCH, OH MY GOD. Strictly from the complaint department, this has balanced a lot of the current situations which made the game unfair. Gold on Mules (beautiful), Weaken Snipe (Excellent), Buff Pheonix to be more viable vs Zerg (Superb), Apm Changes? (Icing on THE CAKE AND A CHERRY)

Terran MAY or MAY NOT need a slight buff somewhere to account for the snipe change in the future, only time will tell.

and good shit, now terran has no reason to make a spell caster against zerg for the purpose of, you know, casting spells.

To be honest, I'm really gonna jump off the cycle of balancing this game. Terran gets nerfed, Terran finds a way to win games again, Zerg and Protoss QQ about Terran, Terran gets nerfed again. It's just an endless cycle even though Terran is taking the initiative to overcome their struggles while Zerg and Protoss accuse everything around them to be imbalanced.

I miss when things were done in moderation. Both the ghost snipe nerf and the Phoenix range buff are massive changes. If snipe did 35 or 30 damage, it would still take more hits, but it would be more in line with David Kim saying they are "Slightly" too powerful.

Phoenixes are faster than Mutas and can shoot while moving. In theory, they can kite them indefinitely without taking a single hit in return. The problem is that Phoenix range of 4 vs Muta range of 3 is a very narrow gap, and at the high speeds these units move at, it is pretty much guaranteed that Toss will slip up and Phoenixes will get in range of Muta fire. Honestly, this is pretty damn huge, and is gonna really alter the landscape of PvZ.


I agree with awesomoecalypse that the Phoenix upgrade is huuuuge. Phoenix are now, effectively, completely invincible against Mutas. Sure the Zerg can throw in a couple Corrupters, but they do such low damage and are so slow that the Phoenix's can still kill all the mutas before they take significant damage from the Corrupters.

Seems like it´s time for you to adept... on EU every second T does what you described.

I like the patch overall, how the snipe will pan out - let´s wait and see. Maybe it´s too much of a nerf vs Z, yet vs P it´s more like a buff to be honest. Also that they addressed the phoenix muta situation - big props Blizz & David Kim =)

Nothing changed to what Snipe can target. They just redid the damage (similar to how they redid siege tank damage in one of the earliest post-release patches)

LOL what a fucking joke. 19 snipes to kill an ultralisk? That's almost 3 and half ghosts with 3 having full energy. This would have made sense with a fungal nerf but...wow. I don't even know what to say. Every terran knows it's impossible to stop BL with vikings alone. They just broke lategame TvZ.

Mule nerf is okay. Ghost nerf...well i don't think it's the right thing as ghosts are like the only thing to counter mass broodlords/infestor for terran. Let's see!

Most people (myself included) predicted the snipe nerf ages ago. Ghosts were good against every single unit zerg could make (except MAYBE roaches). That is terrible design. Now terran will actually need to create a decent mix to handle zerg tier 3 and *gasp* may have to start looking at ravens and Battlecruisers. (This is coming from a Protoss player). The slight buff to psionic doesn't matter much. As someone else mentioned, infestors might die a tad faster. Ghosts will no longer be so amazing against the chargelot heavy mixes we've been seeing (but still be good).

MULE nerf is ok, but meh. Just take golds out entirely, no one will miss them.

Phoenix buff is the most interesting for me. What kind of ratio of phoenix to muta will be needed now? Who knows, depends on micro/upgrades etc. Muta will still have a role in PvZ, you just can't mass them for 5 minutes then a move to win anymore. They will still force a heavy investment to stop, and then you can just switch out of them. The spire has other uses (broodlords, corruptors). Makes the match up more dynamic, I think. Having a lot of phoenix might be even more frustrating for zerg to deal with as well. Might possibly see some sort of air-toss play emerge, if they ever fix the damn carrier.

Snipe only works against light units, sentrys are like mechanical or armoured or some shit and archons are massive anyways, this is the damage they do vs high templar in the case of protoss.


Actually snipe only works against biological units, and sentry is light unit i think.
