I know Geoff doesn't own the team. I'm talking about the second part of that; the 'he might get cut' part. His presence as the team's captain and de facto spokesperson, I think, makes him as valauble as someone who puts up much better results.

He's more valuable than pretty much everyone on EG except Idra Puma and Huk.

Idra consistantly places highly on tournaments. Before someone calls me an idra fanboy just know I created the cruncher fan club.

Awww that's kinda sad :-/ I don't understand how they left LZgamer on the team and kicked off Axslav though!?

Didn't surprise at all. Kinda expected. better late than never

I'd imagine its because axslav and strife are teamless right? Why would this be a bad thing for them? They have an opportunity to pursue smaller market teams that can give them more focus and attention. Axslav and strifecro will probably get better situations on other teams than EG can justify. I doubt you'll hear Ax or strife say being on EG was detrimental to their career. They're probably both thankful for the opportunity. Its a different chapter, there's no need to be sad.
This kind of reminds me of the steel series and grubby situation, just because steelseries dropped grubby doesnt mean we should stop supporting either party. Grubby will land on his feet and have the opportunity to acquire different sponsors or perhaps join up with a team and steelseries will continue supporting esports. Two players who haven't achieved great results are now teamless. It's hard to patronize people who are sad and only see the glass as half-empty.
I don't see many comments saying they'll stop supporting any of these parties.

As far as sponsor ROI perhaps he is even more valuable to the team than the rest of them combined. His stream is very popular though not as popular as Huk or Idra. He is on every show and makes sure to shout out the sponsors names as much as possible. He never forgets them in interviews as well. Winning a tournament means more to the player than the team, though the team benefits a simple "couldn't have done this without my steelseries 6gv2" goes a long way for the sponsors. Geoff suggesting people email the sponsors as well does a ton for the team. I think currently he is near the last place as far as skill goes, but he does so much for the team I doubt they would ever drop him especially since he is going to Korea soon I think.

Despite LZgamer being nearly as bad as them I thnk he probably beats those two on a regular baisis. Though I actually prefer the two of them over LZgamer because they were willing to take the beating of living in a team house to attempt to get better while he couldn't leave the safety of his mom's house unless it was a 3 day weekend tournament -_-

as a 2v2 specialist, they actually sucked as a team. constantly letting the team down in competitions. so there was no justification to keeping them around. at least incontrol is popular and helps the community, there was just loss money invested in those two.

Yeah unfortunately this is the free-market of SC2 pro gaming. Only the strong survive, and only the strong will continue to resurface. Axslav is a good player, but is he truly at Huk level? No, so either he has to practice more to get there, or he'll eventually fall off the radar. Everyone realizes that, and everyone should know thats the unfortunate reality of the situation, and why most look at the glass as half empty.
Sure its an opportunity, but its simultaneously the first step backwards in terms of a pro gaming career, where normal progression would be: get known -> join a team -> get better -> get good enough to win tournaments -> win tournaments.

Wasn't this announced like a month ago?

I wonder which two players will get to inherit the 2 person closet axslav and strifecro were living in O.O

Not to mention, his girlfriend is their house manager and he helped to form their StarCraft II team. iNcontrol isn't going anywhere :D

If I had to guess, I'd say he's below Idra and Puma, but ahead of HuK. Complete guess though. Idra is easily the most popular player on the team and Puma was their entry into the Korean market.

this is world of professional gaming, you either entertain or you either get results, if you can't deliver either, no reason for the company to hire you.
JYP better step it up, cause his play looked disgusting in GSL

Way to not even mention the free EG shirts.

Axslav will do well outside of EG, hes been breaking a little bit out of his shell of recent so on another team without players to overshadow him he'll have a lot more attention than he would on EG. Strifecro I don't think will benefit from this much, especially if he leaves the EG house.

saw these two play in a bunch of playhems, even winning some. thought they were solid players, I think they would be better fit on a mid level team, best of luck to those two.

Yeah what the heck is with that anyway? + Show Spoiler + w/r against Terran? Seriously? Did EG actually consider this?
I mean he did come in + Show Spoiler + in HSCIV but GSL is really the only tournament that matters... Hopefully he'll break out and it'll all be good.

Imo Huk is better than Idra overall in terms of consistency in the GSL at least. Idk who won more major tournaments though, but I'd have to say Huk...
