LZ been in EG going on 3 years in April, I agree he doesn't have a huge following. Cause of State of the Game and his personality, Incontrol has a huge following and is one of the most popular players in SC2. I see LZ going soon but not Incontrol

That doesn't even make sense.

I recall watching Axslav in a weekly cup a long time ago, and then shortly after reading where EG signed him. Seems like bad/sad news at first... but this really could be good for their careers.
Someone summarized what Scoots said on LO3 about this a few pages back, I'll paraphrase again. Being on a team with Idra, Huk, Puma, Jyp, and Inc... there is not much room in the spotlight for anyone else.
Moving to a x6, QxG, CoL, LighT, or etc... could be a great opportunity for them to shine.
Best of luck to you guys.

basically EG picked up JYP and shortly after decided to drop Axslav/Strifecro so it looks like they are getting a korean and dropping 2 americans giving the impression that Koreans will soon replace all Americans.

Calling it now, EGAxslav.... O wait

This probably makes Machine and Lz feel awkward...

You realize the second Axslav left EG, he apparently got scooped back up again by another team, right?
And that's not even addressing the fact that foreign players aren't even "beginning" to fade off, let alone "continuing" to do so. The foreign scene is still getting larger, and HotS hasn't even come out yet (let alone LotV).

These guys have potential, I hope they find good homes to grow.

That's actually really sad, I really liked watching them play.
edit: as a part of EG

Not sure why people are taking shots at strifecro and axslav about results lately.. IdrA has put up about as much for results as they have in the past months. Results as in.. Absolutely nothing.

I like him when he was Terran =/

Is everyone sad because EG is losing 2 great players or because Axslav and strifecro are teamless?
I'd imagine its because axslav and strife are teamless right? Why would this be a bad thing for them? They have an opportunity to pursue smaller market teams that can give them more focus and attention. Axslav and strifecro will probably get better situations on other teams than EG can justify. I doubt you'll hear Ax or strife say being on EG was detrimental to their career. They're probably both thankful for the opportunity. Its a different chapter, there's no need to be sad.
This kind of reminds me of the steel series and grubby situation, just because steelseries dropped grubby doesnt mean we should stop supporting either party. Grubby will land on his feet and have the opportunity to acquire different sponsors or perhaps join up with a team and steelseries will continue supporting esports.

Doesn't iNcontroL own the team, at least in part? If not he might one day get cut as well.
Anybody think Dragon's gonna make an attempt to haggle EG to some ridiculous yearly salary in exchange for good results? He's certainly more skilled than Axslav or Machine, for sure.
|
Never really been a fan of Strifecro, mostly dont know much about him, but I like Axslav's stream and always liked how he plays. For people will lesser mechanics he's really a great guy to watch and get better.
No doubt Axslav will pop up elsewhere and hopefully he gets to go to MLG's and other tournaments from now on too. Definitely a guy to look forward to in team leagues as well

Watching EG's practice sessions has made it pretty apparent, I think, that iNcontroL has immense value to the organization beyond results as a player. He's the most articulate player they have, the most camera-friendly and sponsor-friendly player they have, and when someone needs to crack the whip or say 'hey, you need to buckle down and work harder,' it's Geoff. I liked him for his personality beforehand, but I've gained an enormous amount of respect for him over the course of the EG practice streams.

Its a real shame but I really cannot believe they dropped Axslav before Lz, who, and I'm speaking objectively here, is definitely the worst player on EG, somewhat due to the race switch imo. Strifecro was expected, since he really hasn't won anything ever. But still Axslav... damn, he's a great player and its a shame he hasn't won anything recently, but as has been said, business is business...

Incontrol doesn't own the team. I think Scoots owns it? but maybe im wrong and hes just the head manager. Incontrol just has a very strong following, and is great for PR. He's also very camera friendly so I can see why he will be sticking around.
also im curious as to who axslav got signed on with

That is really unfortunate to hear. I really hope both bounce back on their feet with another organization. Nice release by EG. After the past couple weeks of craziness and drama with players moving around it's good to see some PR is still handled with a modicum of maturity. Good luck you two!!
