Incontrol had as bad if not worse results, so we know that being a community spokesman kinda guy can keep you on the team. But what did LZ and Machine do? I don't understand how they managed to stay on the team. Maybe Axslav and Strifeco didn't want to stay? Seems too weird. I am really baffled.

Why not? Getting Korean-grade players and set them up in Arizona seems like waste.

Depending upon success of other games, the EG Lair doesn't solely have to be for Starcraft 2 players. They already had their WoW 3v3 team their before Blizzcon as well. I wouldn't be surprised if their DotA team ended up heading on over if it's as successful as many people think it will be.

Their DotA team is currently living in China, they have no interest in a US house.

The house has exclusively SC2 players. The WoW team bootcamped for Blizzcon but that's it. As I understand they were going to use it for EG's other teams whenever it's convenient for them to stay there for some reason (which is very unlikely) or for SlayerS players to train if they want to come early for a foreign tournament to get rid of jetlag and such (which is also unlikely considering how hectic schedules are for progamers).

How many people are in the EG lair right now? 3?

Demuslim, Incontrol and Machine? Idra will be back once he's finished with his time in Korea and you cannot rule out future acquisitions based in NA or other Europeans moving over like Demuslim did.

O.o That's seriously odd... I mean, Axslav is regularly able to beat DeMuslim and Violet... I really hope other teams pick them up and they really have a chance to shine.

Totally unexpected T.T

I really loved watching Axslav stream, I really hope they both manage to find a good home for themselves. I'd like to hear the players side of it though.

Also, I feel like cutting all of your b-teamers isn't such a great idea... not everyone can be an S-Class, A-Team player.

INcontroL says Axslav has found a new home. I'm betting something mid tier like It's Gosu/Reign/or MAYBE Complexity.

People should stop acting like they are not on the team anymore ONLY because of results, there are more reasons besides results when it comes to a team dismissing players. gl to them both
Live it up.

I think it's a mistake to let go of Axslav, clearly he's popular and appreciated in the community and not just that, he's been playing well and I could see him get further in MLG this year. He has a great tactical mind, just need to improve his mechanics. Should've kept Axslav and let go of Lz and Machine together with the already sacked StrifeCro. Anyway, hope TL or someone gets a comment from either player to clarify the situation. Although I clearly understand why, I really hate when organizations are withholding information T.T.

pretty sure Axslav is going to join Checksix. He did mention on his stream back then when they were speculating this "Ya I'm still on EG" but I'm pretty sure thats just a coverup because that info wasn't publicly announced yet.

I suspect this was a mutual agreement and that the lack of information is to make sure they don't interfere with Axslav's next team signing. It doesn't cost much to give a player 2 meals a day in a near-empty team house, but it does cost a lot to send him out to tournaments. If EG wasn't willing to send this talented player to international tournaments or even korea, then it's in both parties' interest to part ways.

Why all the hate on Lzgamer? Jake's an awesome guy and was the only conduit that led me to follow team EG back in the broodwar days. Best BW stream ever!

Not surprised.

They were clearly not good enough to represent a top tier e-sports organization.

EG probably offered to let them stay on with $0 salary, only free room and board at the EG house, and they just opted to go elsewhere hoping to make something more than nothing.

That was already their offer. Axslav had stated that EG was providing him with a spot in the house and tournament support but no salary.

They just didn't perform in their very specific roles. I don't remember them winning many 2v2s in EG Masters Cup, which I assume EG thought would be auto-win since they were recruited from their 2v2 reputation

Not at all, "freeing up money" also mean not having to pay for travel expenses... so they can pay more to new poached players.

I kinda saw it coming with the end of the year (when contracts expire), their lack of results and EG having a tradition of getting rid of weak players in other games (which every business centric team, except Liquid, does). Machine and LZ must be on the brink of being cut as well, maybe they just didn`t want to cut half the team at once and will wait a bit.

I agree with everyone else that, skill-wise, incontrol is in the same level of all those players, but he is a popular caster/commentator so there is no way he is being cut soon.
