This makes sense, but i really wish they would keep them as part of the "old team" and have them their not full time but just as coaching material. Sad news, i like axslav and his style a lot :'(.

odd choice, imo these two have been improving more than lz or machine lately.

my prediction is that they land on ItsGosu, or maybe that new team Light

strife never really carried his weight but axslav was a hero to EG in many of the team league games.. if only he was more popular/vocal etc., he could have maybe kept his spot. Clearly being on a team like EG is more than just results, skill or potential; you have to be an ace in something whether it's playing (puma/jyp/idra/huk) or marketability (incontrol/idra/huk).

gl hf axslav.

Yea to be a part of EG you defintely need to be marketable. I think EG puts their sponsors out their better than any other team which is why they have the most sponsors. Their players are always interviewed or on shows and the hard work they put into promoting their brand has really paid off. I can just hear incontrol/idra saying "id like the thank our sponsors intel, steelseries, monster energy, kingston, gunnar optics, and beyond gaming" at the end of every iTG/SoTG/interviews. It became catchy.

Not only the players promote their brand but the company itself. They have so many projects such as onemoregame, egmc, the idra giveaway, the commercials with kingston, the promotion they do within the lair, and all the hype they have with announcements.

Rather than all the hate that EG gets they should be admired by everyone because they are a model company when it comes to being successful.

If I remember correctly, wasn't Axslav really wanting to go to korea and EG wasn't going to send him? I thought I recalled him saying that on his stream. So that might have something to do with it. No idea about Strife though:/

It's nice that EG players still practice with StrifeCro (not sure about Axslav though).

Hmmmm machine not being dropped too is kinda weird like he hasn't played well at all since he joined EG. LZgamer has some talent so I wasn't really worried about him but machine stifecrow and axslav haven't really done much.

I guess with Top level players like JYP, HuK, Idra, Puma they wanted results. I think Machine might be next...depends when his contract expires.

Why would they pick up a guy who's biggest achievement was qualifying for Open Season 3 and has publicly stated the reason he left SlayerS was that he wanted to continue in his normal career.

This is a good thing. Spots opening up for players actually deserving of a team house. Hopefully EG adds some more solid players to their lineup.

Doubt they'll get rid of Machine although I do think they are likely to let LzGaMeR go

I don't get it. We had a thread last month about the lack of sex appeal in the SC2 scene, and yet people want EG to boot Lz.

But all kidding aside, I'm surprised, yet not surprised by this. I think EG is going for an A, and B team with the B team in az, and the A team in KR (except when IdrA comes back when MLG starts back up). After signing Huk and JYP, it makes sense for EG to cut a protoss, and regardless of results or whatever you think of him, incontrol is a more valuable player to EG then Ax is. If you've been watching these practice sessions EG has been streaming, Incontrol instructs his teammates and seems to be a better practice partner. And like toss, 4 z's is a lot for a team, so cut one makes sense, and lz has been with eg since bw (like incontrol), so I understand if they give him a little longer (plus lz contract may not be up for a while).

Esports is a business, and if you're going to invest heavily in the Korean scene then you have to make cuts elsewhere to balance your books.

I wish axslav and strifecro all the best, and expect both to be picked up fairly quickly. Axslav seems to be rapidly improving, hopefully he continues to improve.

Sorry if I have missed it somewhere, but is it certain that EG dumped them rather than they decided to leave? I know it seems likely EG let them go since their results are not stellar - but isn't it possible that the fact they were allegedly just playing for board etc and tournament support mean that perhaps they got better offers and wanted to leave?

I dont see machine qualifying for any IEM events. Axslav and Strifcro both went to NY last year. Also, Demuslim has not been the player Geoff hypes him up to be, and anytime he is scheduled to do anything big "somthing" always comes up. *not to belabor that point because we all know about that* I know Geoff has is spot on the team written in blood, for good reason, he is one of the faces of E-sports. It seems EG starcraft team is becoming, or has become, more of a political atmosphere than one based on play.
Im smarter than you think I am, but not as smart as I think I am.

To be fair to Machine and the rest of EG, they chose to participate at MLG Raleigh that was also held that weekend

Seriously? What team would offer them better offers? What have they done?

I have to say I am pretty disappointed in the lack of a smartass response regarding this and idras¨flop¨ on Code S.So I´ll say it:

Sad to see them go, but hopefully well see them do great things in the future. Also its nice for once to see an amicable split between players and a team

That's a real bummer for Axslav, he always did so well for EG in the teamleagues. He may not have been a HuK or an Idra, but he always did well. Though now that I think about it I haven't seen him do well in a while, so maybe his low apm is starting to hurt him as the game ceiling rises...

Anyway, like a lot of other people have said, I'm surprised he got cut before LZ.
