Clearly being on a team like EG is more than just results, skill or potential; you have to be an ace in something whether it's playing (puma/jyp/idra/huk) or marketability (incontrol/idra/huk). gl hf axslav. Yea to be a part of EG you defintely need to be marketable. I think EG puts their sponsors out their better than any other team which is why they have the most sponsors. Their players are always interviewed or on shows and the hard work they put into promoting their brand has really paid off. I can just hear incontrol/idra saying "id like the thank our sponsors intel, steelseries, monster energy, kingston, gunnar optics, and beyond gaming" at the end of every iTG/SoTG/interviews. It became catchy. Not only the players promote their brand but the company itself. They have so many projects such as onemoregame, egmc, the idra giveaway, the commercials with kingston, the promotion they do within the lair, and all the hype they have with announcements. Rather than all the hate that EG gets they should be admired by everyone because they are a model company when it comes to being successful.

Why would they pick up a guy who's biggest achievement was qualifying for Open Season 3 and has publicly stated the reason he left SlayerS was that he wanted to continue in his normal career.

But all kidding aside, I'm surprised, yet not surprised by this. I think EG is going for an A, and B team with the B team in az, and the A team in KR (except when IdrA comes back when MLG starts back up). After signing Huk and JYP, it makes sense for EG to cut a protoss, and regardless of results or whatever you think of him, incontrol is a more valuable player to EG then Ax is. If you've been watching these practice sessions EG has been streaming, Incontrol instructs his teammates and seems to be a better practice partner. And like toss, 4 z's is a lot for a team, so cut one makes sense, and lz has been with eg since bw (like incontrol), so I understand if they give him a little longer (plus lz contract may not be up for a while). Esports is a business, and if you're going to invest heavily in the Korean scene then you have to make cuts elsewhere to balance your books. I wish axslav and strifecro all the best, and expect both to be picked up fairly quickly. Axslav seems to be rapidly improving, hopefully he continues to improve.

Also, Demuslim has not been the player Geoff hypes him up to be, and anytime he is scheduled to do anything big "somthing" always comes up. *not to belabor that point because we all know about that* I know Geoff has is spot on the team written in blood, for good reason, he is one of the faces of E-sports. It seems EG starcraft team is becoming, or has become, more of a political atmosphere than one based on play. To be fair to Machine and the rest of EG, they chose to participate at MLG Raleigh that was also held that weekend

I know it seems likely EG let them go since their results are not stellar - but isn't it possible that the fact they were allegedly just playing for board etc and tournament support mean that perhaps they got better offers and wanted to leave? Seriously? What team would offer them better offers? What have they done?

Anyway, like a lot of other people have said, I'm surprised he got cut before LZ.
