Well this was already announced some time ago. Sad for both of them, but fully understandable.

It is understandable because I guess EG only wants to high the highest level players wich has been showing throw the korean pick ups. GL to them in the future

I understand that they need to get rid of some players but it's still sad to see this. My choice to kick out would have been StrifeCro and LzGamer though. :/

EGs roster is packed. They have Puma, JYP, HuK, Idra, Demuslim.... and maybe they want to add some more koreans on the roaster (Heart ?, Dragon ? Golden ?)

I hope Axslav continues to stream. He is my favorite streamer.

Streaming is a great way to get some income if your a sc2 pro. I can't imagine him stopping. Especially because hes so popular and interact with the fans.

God damn, sick of the LZgamer hate, dude was one of the first streamers streaming BW, been a fan of his for a long time his rants on idra were amazing. Hopefully the 2 find a good team and have success in the future. Can't wait to see if they are picking up more players or just making room for jyp.

from a team point of view it is undestandable...since i never heard of them here in EU for sc2. I know them from EG web site and i believe from Brood War...correct me if i am wrong. Brood War memory is getting more and more lost..

after hearing all that people like idra and incontrol said about how EG was building itself im really suprised by this. they had atleast heavily implied that EG was happy with their performance, and happy to have an unoffical B team/bigger roster for things like moral, team training, smaller leagues. now the article specifically says EG dropped them, they didnt ask to leave. kinda shocked.

This. When a certain TL writer wrote something about certain EG players' underperformances he got lambasted for it with the reason that it was too soon to judge the players in the house. So what has changed now?

Strifecro is my fav. player. Too bad EG cut the midtier players... No longer a fan of them.

IMO it's kinda shallow to dislike a team just because they dropped a player. Of course it is your opinion, but if you look at it from EG's perspective they haven't seen many results from Strifecro compared to their other players and frankly it might not be worth the money for him to remain on the team from a business standpoint. Whether you like it or not, these teams are businesses and I believe this decision will inevitably lead to more growth within Esports as EG can allocate their money to players that they may feel are more deserving.

That being said I too regret their decision to part but I wish all parties the best.

Then you have to ask why incontrol is still on the team.

Straight up due to personality?

Just to clarify this, EG is looking for either exceptionally skilled players or players that they can keep on the team, bring up, and are capable of representing the team. StrifeCro and Axslav didn't actually do...anything. I regularly forgot they were on the team until people mention them. LZGamer could have a sick commentating career mixed with play and is an extremely personable individual, much like InControl. Machine has done a commercial for them and generally represents the team well at tournaments etc.

I think Machine has potential to be a great player and hopefully EG sees that too. Same with InControl, I think if he just spent the time to play a macro game in MLG he'd have better results.

In this case, I'd have to say that it has more to do with the fact that StrifeCro and Axslav were of lower skill and simultaneously didn't do much to promote the team that would result in them getting sent off. LZGamer, Machine, and InControl are more recognizable (because they promote the team more) and will likely stay there for awhile. Hopefully they get better at Starcraft 2 in the process--it's a new year, hopefully they pull through.

I'm looking at an ROI to a brand, right. So, go look at Axlav's twitter followers, his facebook, his interaction, how he does videos. It's not negative against nick, this is the facts of business. Right, so, if a player wants to get more money from us, or wants to get more travel from us, they have to do certain things.

It doesn't seem it was about performance, but more about player popularity.

What's awful about that? If all you care about is performance, they can perform independently of being in EG. Being in a team though involves responsibilities to sponsors and the team to represent the team, not just get results (that said, if they were bringing in major results [say, winning MLG], that would probably be good representation, but as it is they are not bringing in super good results, nor are they representing the team much)
