This. When a certain TL writer wrote something about certain EG players' underperformances he got lambasted for it with the reason that it was too soon to judge the players in the house. So what has changed now?

Just to clarify this, EG is looking for either exceptionally skilled players or players that they can keep on the team, bring up, and are capable of representing the team. StrifeCro and Axslav didn't actually do...anything. I regularly forgot they were on the team until people mention them. LZGamer could have a sick commentating career mixed with play and is an extremely personable individual, much like InControl. Machine has done a commercial for them and generally represents the team well at tournaments etc. I think Machine has potential to be a great player and hopefully EG sees that too. Same with InControl, I think if he just spent the time to play a macro game in MLG he'd have better results. In this case, I'd have to say that it has more to do with the fact that StrifeCro and Axslav were of lower skill and simultaneously didn't do much to promote the team that would result in them getting sent off. LZGamer, Machine, and InControl are more recognizable (because they promote the team more) and will likely stay there for awhile. Hopefully they get better at Starcraft 2 in the process--it's a new year, hopefully they pull through.

What's awful about that? If all you care about is performance, they can perform independently of being in EG. Being in a team though involves responsibilities to sponsors and the team to represent the team, not just get results (that said, if they were bringing in major results [say, winning MLG], that would probably be good representation, but as it is they are not bringing in super good results, nor are they representing the team much)
