It seems like they would be cannon fodder once Terran scans and Protoss just needs an obs with it's army.
Could someone please explain why a Lurker seems to be a particularly desirable unit? It seemed bad to me in my eeexxtremely limited SC1 experience.
Brings the concept of map control and positioning to the forefront again. They are also awesome against unmicro'd 1-a clumps of units, which we see too much of in SC2.

I wonder if this is the unit that comes from infesting a bunker, I think it was shown at last blizzcon

Lurkers were very tanky(ish). They also did a LOT of damage to unsuspecting marines and medics (there were no medivacs), so a lot of squads got picked apart in small chokes due to the pathing being more manual. Imagine 10-12 marines and 2-3 medics walking in a single file line and being disrupted and taking a lot of damage, without the medics being able to heal properly, because ALL the units would be taking damage. Scans used to be a lot more viable before too, because there were no mules as an option. Now terran would have to stock a lot of scans or get a Raven to push out safely, only to scan the area, and have the lurker unburrow and run (those things used to be pretty fast at that too).
Hope that helped, but I don´t think this new unit will be anywhere close to the lurker.

It makes sense to introduce a unit that's morphed from a hydralisk since hydras are underwhelming atm but also needed for aa.

The crown of the head is a hydralisk though, just look at the OP....you can see how the hydra is the head and the back is more armored and roach like.

It seems so shield-like now, wow. Starting to think that's it.

i really hope its roach mutation and not hydra mutation, because going to lair tech for hydras THEN getting mutation building/research would be kinda ridiculous.
hope its tier 1 roach warren, get lair, mutate roach warren

Also, Roaches have six legs, this thing only has four.

Hydras have none.

They could of changed hydras to T1 or made a different requirement like T 1.75 where you need spawning pool and roach warren to get to hydra den.

Infested Tachikoma would be SO OP, it is funny!

Hmm, the idea of a roach morph that could shoot air is kinda cool, but it would be so similar to a stalker...

A spammable anti-air unit is definetly needed

If it is a Lurker, I hope they add in a toggle-able attack for 'hold position lurkers' again.
