To me I think it will be a siege type unit that can burrow. But I would expect it can do an attack above ground as well... just my guess

I think it's like a lurker but visible when burrowed as the shell would stay above ground. This is needed if the unit is the same tier as lurkers in bw because detection is more expensive/harder to get in SC2.

However, they could have a big armor bonus when burrowed to create micro (need to focus-fire them before they burrow) and interesting decision : suppose it's able to attack when not burrowed, it may be more efficient for the Z keep them on ground if the force they're fighting is not big enough to kill them.

I have no idea about their attack, it could be anything from line AoE to something more dark swarmy.

It kind of looks like it might use banelings as ammo and chuck them out. Fingers are still crossed for a lurker though

By the form of the front claws and round back it might be that he will be able to take some defensive state in a "ball" form.

You guys seen Starship Troopers? My guess is it's going to like the bugs that shot into the air. The back end will be like the bangling, and the unit will project the acid onto air and ground units from a distance like the Terran tank, obviously with air now.
Imma roll around on the floor for a while. Kay?

I don't know what this zerg thing is, but I'm certain that there's no way in hell that anyone will be able to tell anything about the new protoss unit from a silhouette. It'll either be "Hey it looks like a humanoid with a big head" or "Hey it looks...like a weird alien machine that could do just about anything".

Pretty sure that this unit is going to be used to hold positions. Other units Z will get in HotS will deal with air hopefully.

One thing that i don´t understand

when the back
is for a siege weapon /or heavy weapon in general

why the back "feets" are so frikin tiny....

for my knowledge when you have something big to shoulder you better have big legs xD

Is it just me or does this make absolutely no sense? I'm not knocking on his idea, I just think that people are way over thinking this. It's really not too difficult to see that it's obviously a siege unit. Probably upgraded from a roach or hydra, maybe even a queen. My theory is that it's an armored melee unit when it's walking, but then when it burrows it turns into a siege-like unit. Think of it like a spine or spore crawler except with a melee attack and a siege attack. My 2 cents.



It makes perfect sense... I think it would be more reasonable to upgrade banelings thru a lair rather than need to upgrade hydras from a hive.. Just keep in mind that whatever kind of unit its going to be.. Its still in the Tier 1 - 3 range. So if it is some sort of hydra that means you would need an added building or hive tech to morph it., Just seems like they wouldnt add a late game unit like this, makes more sense to have it upgraded from Baneling nest after lair.

Could be a number of things, I just hope it's not terrible tier 3 that takes forever to get to, can only attack ground, is gigantic like the ultra with herpderp ai.

My guess is it's a bridge unit to allow other units to move up and down cliffs and morphs from ultras.

It looks like a siege tank- lurker mix, but it could be some weird roach morph, Blizzard is has added interesting units for both and , I hope the protoss one (assuming there will be one) is good.
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞
