With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

SOLVED!: It's a roach mutated unit, but it only gains the ability to morph into the unit after it survives an attack from a Terran nuke, and can only be morphed before it's back at full HP.

Obviously it cannot be used against protoss.

Blizzard said they want to give protoss a harassing unit so I doubt it will be a morph of any of those units and definitely wont be the dark archon.

It looks at least a little arachnid and roach feature are obvious. So it's most likely a roach morph. I don't see it being a seige unit because if Zerg had 2 seige units, one by air and one by ground, that would be a little OP. I don't know why, but it feels like a caster. Only one, omnipotent caster in the Zerg arsenal feels a bit odd, as opposed to terran armies all having abilities to be casted or a Protoss army where you can always expect at least 2 casters. That and I'm just sort of getting a weird vibe from this thing. Would be awesome if I'm right about this though. I'd probably become a psychic.

I see a lot of people calling for a Lurker. I didn't play much SC1, but as far as I could tell a Lurker was just a unit that burrowed and lifted spikes up from the ground, right? Can someone tell me why these units get so much hype? It seems like they would be cannon fodder once Terran scans and Protoss just needs an obs with it's army.

Could someone please explain why a Lurker seems to be a particularly desirable unit? It seemed bad to me in my eeexxtremely limited SC1 experience.

Space control unit that has a line attack and hits multiple units in a row. Forces the other side to use detection and would be useful in a battle on home soil

Yes, it burrows and shoots a line of spikes. I suggest looking up Youtube videos. Not sure where to start.

Imagine if hellions had seige mode. And also they did just as much damage to armored.
How does it feel knowing you wasted another 3 seconds of your life reading this again?

In this game, Savior epicly uses stop lurkers (like burrowed banelings) to bait marines. He shows the enemy Lurkers on top of the ramp, luring him into a false sense of security. He then takes the chance and waits for more marines to show up before releasing the stop. In general, Lurkers were the ideal counter to marines.



Start watching this from 9:00 or so. It shows a typical LurkerLing army composition with Defilers against late-game protoss. Imagine planted siege units with Zerglings flanking and getting in the way, and you can imagine how annoying it'd be to break through. Plus, Lurkers are invincible against ranged units under Dark Swarm (the brown cloudy thing that Defilers can create).

I think people want it for its uniqueness.

But I guess you can think about a unit thats siedged, cloacked, doubles the hellion range but has 20 base damage.

I think that the "spikes that you see under the things... belly.. might be the spikes from the hydras tail. seems to me that it might fit, with the head and all.

Its definately a roach morph. the legs are IDENTICAL. the shell is so SIMILAR. the face looks like the seperated jaws of a ROACH. Its also a seige unit (what blizzard promised zerg in HoTS)
