Things I thought could be improved on: -Video lag during finals -Graphics (already been touched on here, the scoreboard graphic was just really ugly to me in general though...that's probably nit-picky though) -Random loud music during interviews, random guitar transitions, random explosions -No day9/tastosis (I realize how this might be logistically impossible, but to have a perfect event you have to have atleast one of the 3 biggest casters in the scene there imo) -The terrible comedian -Seeing Puma's face during a big micro battle to decide his series with Hero -I don't know how the scheduling was meant, but interrupting the SC2 semifinals for the LoL finals seemed kind of weird. That's all I can think of right now... I honestly would list out all the positives but I'd be sitting here all night typing like a fanboy. I purchased IGN Prime just to support you guys, this was seriously the best e-sports event I have watched online, everything considered. Thank you <3

Everyone is standing wherever, nobody knows what to ask or say, and then there's always the awkward handing of the check and/or trophy (if you're Sundance from MLG you pass the trophy to the guy using your chest because your other hand is full *facepalm*).

Some noteworthy things that IGN did very well. - Using 3 caster teams in rotation. It made sure you cast as many games as possible, and the casters weren't worn out by the end. - Amazing production values, particularly the 60 fps stream. - Great translators. Susie, Smix & Wax fighting~ ![]() - Great extra content, such as interviews, back-stage looks, player panels, first-person player views...etc. - Very nice prize pool distribution where everyone wins something.

+ Lots of content; continuous games was nice + Enjoyed pool play; some great epic matches + Decent production quality + Free HD streaming - Music volume too loud and played during interviews - Commercial volume too loud - Stream volume too low - Some bad cuts between game and player faces - LoL should NOT have been played on SC2 stream - Some bad lag on Day 3, had to drop quality - Scoreboard overlay needs some work, hard to read - Need split VODs ASAP so people can catch up

My only recommendation/request is that though David should definitely stay active, let us know what he has planned and get the credit he deserves, the awards ceremony is better done by one of the casters if you want to make it its own thing. Not a big deal honestly. Thanks David ^^ Also the sound was a touch low for the first 3 days.

This is exactly what it felt like. It might of been better to have a separate stream for LoL. Alot of people in the LR thread starting watch a fighting games tournament. Also the timing of the LoL match was odd, after the first semi-finals. What this could have meant is that the winner of the 2nd semi final match had to play 12 games straight, while the winner of the first would had a few hours to prepare/rest. All the interviews/panel with Incontrol was great. However the final interview was incredibly awkward. But I guess all SC2 tournaments are like that...it would have been nice to see a good one. The technical problems with stream lag were annoying, but it wasn't intolerable. I'm only pointing out the negatives because everything else was awesome. 9/10.

And then allow the qualifiers to determine the rest. The pool play was insanely poor, even IdrA didn't give a shit enough to play which I do not fault him in the slightest for. Having it scheduled so closely to IEM China was a poor decision, although without a central organization I suppose these things cannot be avoided. The lag was terrible for a few of the games which caused me to stop watching for a while. Over all just a lack luster tournament based upon all the hype. NASL is still the best tournament based on actual games instead of production. Sound issues suck, but lag is 10x worse. A 4-0 reminded me of NesTea vs Losira which was really summed up by the award ceremony. I want to watch SCII, not LoL. Please do not do that again, and work on the actual event instead of simply production. I probably most enjoyed the panels and interviews more than the actual games because of the general low quality of play. the online qualifiers were there to find 8 more players that they would pay to come out. If they didnt have those, hardly any koreans would have showed, other than boxer and MC and the few guys from the open bracket. Also, stephano probably wouldnt have even come if it wasn't for the online qualifiers

The on screen graphics though... eh. That's the only point that desperately needs work. Reminds me of NASL with inproperly placed shadows, nigh contrastless metal and dull light screens. The intro's were good, on screen graphics were bad ( and yes I am talking about the names too, because they were unreadable ).

the production quality in some areas was off the hook, and was very very nice (cameras, lighting, stream quality****) but other parts were just plain bad. AWKWARD ass interviews, and just overall not very good interviewers / some casters were just b-level at best (glares at the you-know-who caster duo), the crowd, if you can call it that was anemic at best... and then theres the format... lets design a tourney where half the games in the first two days dont matter at all. , players were literally flipping a coin instead of playing a game.. and what bothers the hell out of me is that there werent enought games to fill the time. just cram it in one less day and get rid of all the unnessecary downtime, downtime KILLS viewers and "bonus matches" between silver players doesnt help) no internet - cant REALLY blame them, Overall id give this tourney a 6 or 7. it was a GOOD tourney, but was it a 9/10 or a 8/10?... dont kid yourselves, there was ALOT of room for improvement. It was a great first attempt, but stop giving them a perfect score just cause you like stephano.

They had to do something with the unexpected blowout from a BO5 series that was allocated something like 90 minutes of time.

While filling down time with those gameplay countdowns narrated by CP were a step up over MLG, they still got repetitive at times. I don't think "more games" is really the answer here, though. I think if they had Lani or someone else ready to do some correspondence during the downtime, that I'd be more attentive throughout the entirety of the broadcast. Think about MMA broadcasts, too. The matches could take anywhere from the 30 seconds to the full 15 minutes, or more if there are stoppages. But they always have something to fill the time. I don't want to rag on Rachel or Anna too much, but I think they could do a better job when they appear on stage. I think this could be because of poor preparation ahead of time, although it's understandable because of how fast paced the event was. They don't need to try so hard to be witty. I think I'd much rather have a solid host than a funny host that stumbles on words a lot. I think my biggest gripe, though, is a lack of involvement with the online community during the event. While they encouraged tweeting and such, it seemed like there was little attention paid to the actual tweeting or stream chatting that was going on, with the exception of the awesome LiveU streams. Also, it was pretty easy to circumvent the IGN Prime requirements to watch the other streams. If someone from IPL wants to message me about how it was done, please do. The time delay difference between the main stage stream and the LiveU streams was troublesome, especially during the Lani/David showmatch. That said, I'll definitely purchase IGN Prime for IPL4. But I'm just nitpicking. Overall the broadcast was excellent. They handled the internet outage expertly, the showmatch between Lani and David was fun, the player panels and LO3 additions were genius. I loved the extra streams that were available, notably the first person views. I think MLG and NASL have something to strive for as far as their broacasting experience goes. While the live-crowd turnout seemed to be struggling, I think that's something that can easily be addressed in the future. Awesome job, IPL staff! 9/10
