I was there and all I can say is please don't ever make me watch three hours of LoL ever again. For the love of god just anything else. Like the interviewing stream would of been waaayyyy better. I mean all the LoL fans were at their venue, and none of us at the Circus were very much into it. There were many boos when it went live, and cheering when it went down.

I voted 10, due to Stephano's win and Rachel's hotness.

This event was so great! Everything was almost perfect except from some lags during the quarter finals. Anyway, thanks so much!

IPL 3 was the best starcraft event i've watched so far.

I think the biggest area of improvement would be in the in-game observer camera work. They missed a lot of stuff in some really amazing games. It was the only thing that noticeably detracted from me enjoying the event multiple times.

When i say only thing, I mean - literally - the only thing.

Make an event in which under 21 year olds can come in, try to entice more open bracket players, slightly adjust the format (no more useless group stages) and you've got yourself an awesome tournament.

10 all the way. The viewing experience at home was phenomenal.

Awards ceremony can be improved. And on stream, can you move the justin.tv (or is it twitch.tv) logo to the top left because where it currently is in the top right, it's blocking the supplies of both players.
Friends are simply people you can do/say vulgar things to.

I went to sleep when LoL went on so luckily I missed that.

I think, overall, the production was amazing.

Way, way surpassed my expectations, full 10. I actually felt bad I didn't pay for that fantastic of a tournament, I certainly will next time. The improvement as the IPL has evolved has been phenomenal.

PROS:
- First of all, the whole stream setup just blew every other tourney out of the water. Splitscreen, with free HD? That's an 11 in my book.
- You guys had better translators than any SC2 tournament so far, hands down. In fact, each one was better than any other translator I've seen in any other tournament.
- I'm not even a LoL fan, but I still liked having it there. Reinforced the constant action going on all weekend.
- The high production values really showed, and were appreciated.
- Constant action, whether games, interviews, etc. I wish I never had to eat or socialize while IPL was on.
- I'm a big fan of everyone involved in the casting/hosting, particularly HD and Anna, and I think that the TeamLiquid tie-in really worked beautifully for IPL.

CONS:
- Butts in seats. As fantastic as that tournament was, it should have been packed. I think the 21 age restriction might have significantly hampered the attendance, and the audience adds something, even to the people at home.

Honestly, the level of improvement that IPL has made in 3 seasons is unbelievable. You just hooked a new fan, and I'm sure a lot of people got hooked with me. I'll be looking forward to IPL 4 like no other SC2 event.

9/10

Things I thought could be improved on:

-Video lag during finals
-Graphics (already been touched on here, the scoreboard graphic was just really ugly to me in general though...that's probably nit-picky though)
-Random loud music during interviews, random guitar transitions, random explosions
-No day9/tastosis (I realize how this might be logistically impossible, but to have a perfect event you have to have atleast one of the 3 biggest casters in the scene there imo)
-The terrible comedian
-Seeing Puma's face during a big micro battle to decide his series with Hero
-I don't know how the scheduling was meant, but interrupting the SC2 semifinals for the LoL finals seemed kind of weird.

That's all I can think of right now... I honestly would list out all the positives but I'd be sitting here all night typing like a fanboy.

I purchased IGN Prime just to support you guys, this was seriously the best e-sports event I have watched online, everything considered. Thank you <3

Pretty much this. except instead of a 9 I gave it a 6. If anyone thought this event was perfect then I weep for the future of Esports. Even IGN will agree with me.

It was a fantastic event. Everything was wonderful except for a few key errors:

- the girls were annoyingly insincere and just generally unnecessary...Anna clapping into the mic and begging for tepid cheers is not only worthless, it's also insulting

- I know caster bashing isn't appreciated so just allow me to say I feel that HD (continually) does not live up to standards. Wheat and Apollo are your money crew.

- LoL finals were a joke and completely destroyed the rhythm of SC2, the superior platform

- Maybe make it 18+ instead of 21...those early shots of the theater with like 8 dudes there were kinda depressing and unnecessary.

Overall, FANTASTIC job. It was a wonderful event that I enjoyed watching all weekend. Keep it up champs.

Get rid of HD. I personally cannot stand that guy's casting. He constantly uses the word "blings" for banelings (not pronounced bee-lings, but blings) which is very annoying and analyzes the game state incorrectly, which is worse.

Edit, also this:
Seeing Puma's face during a big micro battle to decide his series with Hero

Still gave it an 8. Very good games, good production.

Amazing tournament. My favorite thing was just the production and entertainment between matches. This is where most tourneys drag and sometimes make me turn off the stream and go do something else for the rest of the day/night just cause I'm bored between matches. Most tournaments just run the same commercials 90 times and have a "be back soon" screen with music for hours sometime.

With ipl3 there was almost always something to keep me watching and waiting for the next match. Be it cute Lani and her charming interviews/adventures, fun show matches in broodwar or lani vs ign guy, the various interviews/segments they had prerecorded, the top 10 plays and those funny shittiest plays, indy developer showing off their game, the awesome incontrol and gang panel, ect. Amazing, full package of entertainment. It felt like a cool mini convention like a mini Blizzcon/PAX etc with an awesome tournament included.

Only minor complaint I had is I wish we could have seen more of the foreigner games in the round of 32 bracket. Would have been cool if they could have streamed all the 32 round games so we could at least see demuslim, minigun etc at least once in the tournament before they got eliminated. Also the overlay sucked balls especially in finals, even blizzard standard one is better and justin tv logo covered only place we could see supply..

Otherwise, great show, keep up the great work IGN.

Great event overall, the first day you couldn't really do much. And production is one of the highest I've seen but like some have said lower age restriction as it would probably have increased viewers a lot more. (even if the majority of TL members are 21+)

Not really bothered much that LoL was played on main stream as it was already in the schedule but it would be great if you could easily access find the vods of all the streams. I'd like to see the games with fp view and post interview on stream 5/6.

I don't if it was more of Twitch TV side of things but stream stuttered a lot.

Lastly, keep health bars off unless selected. If your casters aren't good at observing then hire one. The western scene for some reason never has this dedicated role except for the TSL.

The games were AMAZING, the production value was great, and the casters were fantastic. However, I didn't like the "fluff". I actually stopped watching because either the "fluff" was bad or there was too much of it. There were too many interviews. The interviewers were good (although I wish they didn't ask questions like "What are you going to do with your prize money?". We don't care what they do with the money.). The jokes were REALLY bad (Randy Anderson wasn't funny in the commercial, and he wasn't funny at the event.).

So for IPL4, maybe they could replace some of the "fluff" with show matches between the casters, which is something I know I would love to see.

Most things have been said but just one more thing:

Rachel and Anna (?) looked so out of place (which is not their fault, I hope)... I mean, it's all fine and dandy to have them "dress up"... BUT "dressing up" while all others around look like homeless (in comparison) is just "wrong" and felt really, really strange...

Either get everyone halfway decent clothing or don't make your host look like promqueens or whatever.....

Btw: Whats up with the beards in the USA? From the crowdshots all I could see where either asians, girls or white dudes with beards ^^.

This was hands down the best Live event i've ever watched. Off the top of my head there are a few things that amazed me about this event:

Amazing stream functionality that allowed us to control player vision, watch two events at once etc.
Free HD streaming
Very minimal delays
Fun community events, like panels with players when there is free time, etc.

If i had to criticize anything it would be minor technical difficulties that occurred from time to time, but it was a a small inconvenience for the amazing quality of service.

I now look forward to IPL every year

Awesome event.

But I am dissapointed with payed service. I payed for Prime because I wanted to make bets on players and watch their FP streams. After subscribing to Prime it appears only USA member can make bets! Why in the world do IGN not wrning be about that? Second thing was FP streams. They are not FP streams but just ingame FP view of players. Real FP stream is direct recording of player with mouse. No mouse = useless FP stream.
