Medivacs could go back to being dropships only. just my 2 cents What? Medivacs are fine. Why would they remove them? Nobody's even QQed about them since Fruitdealer right before he won GSL Open season 1. I'd say they're actually a pretty well designed unit since they add both extra functionality and a point of vulnerability to a standard bio mixture.

I'd say they're actually a pretty well designed unit since they add both extra functionality and a point of vulnerability to a standard bio mixture. I would disagree, terran has far in the extreme the most powerful harass ability due to the strength of medivacs full of marines. the reason here is that they are also 2 of the absolute core units of the terran army. So they don't need to decide to make harass units to get it, and if they notice the opponent is defended against drops, they have lost nothing. The game needs to have critical decisions and consequences, and removing the healing from the medivac would make it much of of a decision to get them for drops instead of just splitting off a small part of your army and having that extremely mobile/powerful harass. If they were to move the healing capibility to a factory or barracks, it will mean that opponents can scout that there's a starport and know immediately that there's an investment outside of a core ground army happening. This will also mean that starports will be more of a decision for terran instead of a given, which will lower their extremely high mid-late game flexibility. This is due to no 'core army' units being produced out of the starport and higher upgrades no longer requiring the starport (to get to sci facil) like in BW, but instead are unlocked from by just the armoury. In addition, terran that go for a fast banshee harass are investing more into that, as a follow-up standard push wouldn't have required the starport at all. Overall removing healing from the medivac and putting it on something barracks or factory tech, makes for a more internally balanced terran race with more consequences for your decisions and less flexibility (which has been the biggest problem trying to balance them so far).

Ya I guess they just think it's "cool" or something, but it makes it look like something twelve year olds would design. It sorta worked for WoW because warcraft has always been pretty cartoony but with starcraft it's always felt really out of place to me.
