Yeah I'm guessing hellion transformer. Fast and weak while mobile, tough while inert. Kinda like a siege tank, except instead of a dps increase its a health/armor increase.

It would be pretty cool if they make Terrans into the official transformer race. Polt would be so sad he left Prime....

I do recall reading a Dustin Browder interview where he says that they will probably un-nerf the Reaper in HotS, so I assume that the Reaper is safely going to be in the expansion, though changed.

Not really. Firebat's one of the last units you'd hear when people talk about units from bw they wanna see in sc2.

The Firebat almost made it into SC2, as it was going to fit the role of a "tanking" Bio unit for Terran by having increased armor and health like the Marauder. However, Blizzard tweaked around with unit roles, and ended up reskinning the SC2 Firebat into the Marauder and giving it an anti-armor, speed-slowing attack to create what is now the Marauder.

The Firebat in the SC2 campaign did kinda suck IMO, since the attack animation was a bit too slow to make the unit practical.

I got the funny feeling its most likely going to be a mech unit.... or a really large bio unit, but seeing there are 4 bio units and 3 factory units currently in the game play... its more likely to be a factory based unit.

Based on the size of this thing, definitely 2 food or more.

If I were to take a wild guess on that, it'll be a modified version of a "reversed" goliath, meaning great anti-land, crappy anti-air unit. Maybe even a thor replacement (or better yet, a more mobile version of a thor).

And I would guess heavy grenade launcher on its hands, with a weak laser weapon that hits air only.

Looks like an armored marauder with an anti-air cannon.

Blizzard, giving terrans yet another Dragoon unit that completely opposes their racial identity in Starcraft 1!

Just as a sidenote. Really Blizzard? Of all the units to tease first, you tease a unit for Terran , the race that people most agree almost doesn't need any more units.

Also I laughed pretty hard at the Banjo Kazooie photoshop.

judging by previous art models done by blizzard, i can like 100% guarantee that this unit comes from the factory because of how boxy the unit is. Terran units that are considered bio traditionally have a rounded look to their armor. and mech has a boxy look.

It's a call down weapons upgrade for the maurader. You need a tech lab add on from the barracks. It allows the marauder to shoot at air units.

It may be a good thing, if their idea is to fix the imbalances with new units instead of changing a current unit extremely. But the problem is, players always find other ways to use units and abilties other than Bizzard thought for, it will be a risky business.

We learn about 1 new unit and you cry foul? Why not wait until blizzcon/whenever they further announce the things that are coming with HotS?

Also, new units for multiplayer is generally a given for an expansion. See: every other game blizzard has ever made. Usually the expansion units help make things even more balanced.

Dustin Browder was hinting about new creep effects in HotS. Perhaps... perhaps that it's actually a water cannon instead of a flamethrower?

The new unit runs around the map, using the water-cannon as a sort of jetpack to jump up and down cliffs like Reapers. It shoots water at creep to clean up the map in an effort to clean up Isle Delfino of the Zerg infestation. The water also has a tendency to cause charging Zealots, blinking Stalkers, and Colossi to slip and fall on the water.

I think it looks like they are changing the marauder into more of a support unit, mabye a combat medic, with high health, healing and mabye some form of supression or area buff or something?

I just think if they are adding another ground unit, they need to remove/change something in the marine/marauder/medivac triumvirate because otherwise there just isnt really a niche that needs filling.
