Why would you ask the creator of the work if you can pirate it? So heartless.

I leave next week, and we'll be there for two weeks at the start of Code S. I can't wait, it's going to be a very exciting trip with a lot of great content. We're also starting our post-production any day now as well, I'm meeting with my editor tomorrow to talk about it!

The story is a year in the life of the team, and so that becomes part of the story. Obviously we don't know exactly what we'll be doing with it, but they don't get written out or anything like that.

Tune in to http://www.twitch.tv/theamazombie for the live stream at 2:30 PST or on the archives at http://blip.tv/sc2newscast. She was on the show once back on episode 18, so I am looking forward to hearing more about Korea, Slayers, and the EG team as a whole after a year of filming.

Mary here, the director of the film. I'm sorry I wasn't here to update you all sooner! I've been really swamped with taking on a lot of projects so that I can stay busy (and earn money to pay people) while our editors are working on the film. Which of course, is a vague way of saying no, we're not done yet. I had hoped for the film to be finished up by now, but we've pushed back the release for a lot of really good reasons. First and foremost, because we didn't make it out to Korea until January, when we had hoped to be wrapped up on filming and in the editing stage by then. Then several other events happened and we didn't wrap until Mid-March. We also want to make sure that every part of post production is done as well as it can be, which takes time. Our editors are hard at work, and then we'll have graphic artists, a composer, color correction, sound design, it's a really long and complicated process to make a great film. I also have a few other reasons for wanting to take a little bit of extra time, but they're not really ready for a public announcement yet. But I promise, the only reason that we delay the film is to make it better. I know a lot of the things that people worry about with how long it takes to put together a documentary (that the action of the film is no longer relevant, for one) but I'm confident that my team and I can make something that you'll enjoy. Some us of WANT to see HuK at his computer, his frustrations and his breakthroughs in gameplay. Even some community tips for improvement would be nice. Just my .02. I'm sure there are people who want a Liquid Rising 2, I don't. Not to say Liquid shouldn't make another doc. I just hope next time it focuses on the game and the players actually playing it and that your documentary avoids those pitfalls. I'm going to be very clear up front here: I've been working non-stop for the last few months and so I haven't had a chance to see Liquid Rising yet. So I can't even begin to speak on it and how we may or may not be different. I've read a few reaction threads, so I do know what people are saying but again, I haven't seen the film and so I can't speak to it myself. And in general, I'm always more comfortable talking about myself and my film and not comparing us to other people/films. That said, I have been saying from the beginning of this project that it's not about just the game but the people who play the game. The best documentaries are character based, in my opinion, and those are the ones I'm the most drawn to as a director. I'm also a big believer in story and structure, even in non-fiction filmmaking. Banu and Alex, my editors, are on the same page with me on this as well, and it's definitely the reasoning behind every decision that we make. I can understand your worry, but I can assure you that it's something that we as filmmakers are always wary of and worried about, but especially with this project. It's not as easy a subject as it might appear, but we're doing our best to do it justice. Which brings me right back full circle to why it's taking so long to finish. I have just set up a mailing list through our website if people want to keep up with how things are going, and our website is also being redesigned right now as well. So there should be a ton of new stuff once that's finished. Thanks everybody!

Fans of Good Game - I know a lot of you have really been anxiously awaiting news and information about the film as we progress through post-production. I apologize for the lack of updates, but in general I'm the only one who maintains the blogs/social media for the film. I've had a series of health, family, and personal issues over the course of this year that have made it hard for me to keep up with everything that I'd like to. I've had to pull back a lot from my participation in the world of esports to focus closer to home. Rest assured, we are still working on the film, and it is still on track, and we will still have something great for you to see when it is finished. I'm just not being as good as I would like at keeping you all up to date on it and posting to twitter/facebook/the website. I'm looking into a few ways to fix this, but it may take a bit of time and I hope that you'll all be patient. I hate asking you to wait, but I'd rather give you guys something worthwhile than just throwing something together once in a while. Thank you so much for your support of the film, it has meant the world to me to see that we have so many fans and people excited about seeing what we have to show you. It's definitely something that has helped me this year, and there can't be enough said about that. Thanks again, and don't worry, this movie is still happening and it's still awesome. And I'll be traveling down to MLG Raleigh for part of the event, so if you'll be there, please tweet at me so we can meet up and chat! I'll bring some stickers and wristbands with me to hand out to fans. Sincerely, Mary Ratliff
