Bought the game straight after Beta.. played placement matches and got put in Silver. 20 games later I was in Diamond. Took me all the end of last season to finally get a Masters promotion, since i'd quit for a while when Masters was released. That's it xD

Started out in gold league. I hadn't played for a week or two and I was kind of intimidated of 1v1 because the intensity always gets to me. But I finally worked up the courage to play one. As it was loading I was getting myself pumped to the best of my ability. Finally, the game started and my opponent left immediately. I got promoted to platinum right away ^.^
It was a awesomely anticlimactic.

Now I'm in diamond but the story is not so good. I placed in to it when the new season started. I'm hoping my masters promotion will be better

Started off as a speedling rusher in silver league and stopped laddering 1v1 because I knew my fundamentals sucked. I practiced macro and mechanics with the game AI on hard until I felt pretty confident and then played about 20 ladder games and got to platinum. I then stopped laddering again and practiced my mechanics and macro against FYN ai (very good practice tool) until I felt comfortable with my improved skills, after which season 2 started and with the improved skills I got promoted to diamond with ease on a new account and 2 other accounts. The entire time I did watch GSL.

the day i got promoted to masters i went 0-4 lololololol had just gotten back from a trip to disney so i was rusty, yet i still got promoted w/losses xD

Started off in Silver (technically gold now) in Beta, thinking i would stay there for a bit. Continued improving and eventually got to Diamond.

Game is released, started in Plat (4-1), but got to Diamond quickly...and pretty much stayed there since. Played against a couple masters players, but that's pretty much it...

When this season started, I played my one placement match and hoped to get into diamond, as I was in platinum last season. I see I'm going up against a Terran (I'm Zerg) on Tal'Darim Altar. My 15 hatch goes up and he starts a bunker. I killed 1 SCV, but I couldn't kill the 2nd he used to build the bunker. He starts putting up more bunkers while I try to tech to roaches. But I can't stop him and as soon as my hatch dies, I rush with all my lings + roaches + broodlings. I killed 4 bunkers and about 14 marines. I immediately break for his base. I catch a few marines that he forgot to move back to his base and an SCV. I start to attack his wall when I see that one of his marines that wasn't in the right position just walking into his base. He messed up his wall :D As soon as he gets his 1st tank out, I'm already walking into his base and kill it quickly along with a few marines. He starts raging and complains about some tree that looked like it was walling the rest off.

I was happy for the promotion, but I felt like I didn't deserve it. I've been doing pretty good in diamond though, so I'm okay now.

I started out in bronze, getting promoted to silver later the same day. As terran. I was in silver for maybe 2 or 3 months before I decided to switch to protoss. Two weeks later I was in Gold, a week after that I was in plat. I was placed in plat after my season 2 placement match and I still reside there

It's amazing how true this can be. I'll get asked my race then I'll mention that I'm random and they'll swear back. Sometimes I'll say you'll find out soon enough

I don't have any specific stories to add here, but, might soon enough

I was in Silver for the longest time, after I watched a single episode of Day9 for then first time, got to gold, watched a few more and go to platinump

Was in bronze when I started and have since spent at least a month in each league (much longer in plat) until recently getting promoted to diamond. Every promotion feels even better than the last :D

Bought the game on the day of release, and started finding out what macro means. As terran, got into bronze, and copied a build by Trump, which pushes with three barracks early in the game. That got me to silver, gold, and platinum in a week or two, but then I learned that knowing one build doesn't get you far, and started loosing alot. Then I watched Fruitdealer kick ass and decided to play zerg, which demoted me to gold, and demotivated I gave 1v1 up until this February.

Since then I have been training every day, working on my weak points, trying out different buildorders till I settled with Ice Fisher build and during season 2 finally got back into platinum. Now I am top platinum and am playing against diamond players mostly, improving on everything I can whenver I loose. I can feel diamond promotion coming up anytime soon! :D

Both in beta and retail I've had demotions. In retail I got placed in silver, got promoted to gold by actually playing a game with terran and winning (I'm zerg). After more work I got to plat but then I didn't play for a few weeks. This got me demoted as my skills sucked and others got better. I got really pissed and felt bad so I whored gold until I got back into plat again. Currently I'm playing diamond players and winning occasionally so I'm definitely getting close to diamond (diamond has been my goal since beta).

I first got into beta in March last year, was promptly put into Copper after having 5 TvP placement matches. After the reset I had diversified opponents and got placed into Silver league, then copper was scrapped, and Diamond was added in, so I was put in Gold after my 5 placements.

After a 3 week span of being in gold I moved up to #1 gold, and the ladder was reset again, when I got back I got into platinum, where I stayed for about 2 months.

When release came about, after my 5 placements I was put into Diamond league, my goal the whole time, I then laddered a bit until I made it to about 1900 Diamond and then Masters league came out, got placed into that then stopped laddering.

Started off w/ terran in bronze, 3rax allinning every single game until silver. In silver 3rax - 5rax reapering everyone. When i got to plat, ppl started to defend my allins and i figured that i actually had no idea how to play the game. That was the time i started playing "straightup" and improved, finally reaching diamond

Was in bronze for a while, playing all the races (sometimes random, sometimes choosing a specific race). I saw a thread somewhere that said zerg players should watch the day9 daily 188? (the one about how you should drone more and make units less). Next game i played, promoted to silver. ♥ day9.

Was an old school BW player. Switched on WC3 when it came out, was lvl 45 1v1 at the time apm70 was grinding to 50 in TFT.
Got lazy on wow, then came to SC2, after 5 matches -> platiniun then diamond. Grinded to high diamond just before master, and then reached master as soon as it came out.

Not good enough for grand master though, and never will be (casual, I pass more time on this forum than playing the game).

Platinum (after placement) > Diamond (pretty soon after placement) > Master (soon after Master division was added).

Kinda inactive at the moment though, have to pick up laddering again (19 games in current division :x).
