Way to overreact. Wings of Liberty's single player had some "rpg-elemnts" too, and I'm pretty sure Blizzard does care about starcraft fans ![]()

We received an invite to see Heart of the Swarm earlier today, promising that we'd see a small portion of the game's campaign, but warning that we won't see any changes or additions to the multiplayer side of StarCraft II at this stage. Blizzard has indicated that it plans a different approach for the first StarCraft II expansion, one that focuses on Sarah Kerrigan and the Zerg legions for its campaign. It's expected that Heart of the Swarm will include some RPG-like mechanics and perhaps include new Zerg units. Just because Blizzard is planning to show off Heart of the Swarm next month doesn't necessarily mean it's due this year. Blizzard has indicated that we will likely see the next StarCraft II game in early 2012. Note that we got our first look at the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty campaign nearly a year in advance of the game's release. Heart of the Swarm is the second part of a planned StarCraft II trilogy.'' Link to Article So no multiplayer information quite yet but we'll definitely get a better idea of what to expect when the expansion finally does release. "[In] the shipping product, all three races will be fully featured and balanced in gameplay and also in content," he said. We asked whether that meant the multiplayer suite in each game would be exactly the same, and he said, "More than likely, the successive products will add multiplayer content; we haven't decided right now what that is." That brought up the question as to how multiplayer would work if some players only buy the first game while others only buy the second or third games. He said that they haven't made any determinations yet as to how that would work.

To those worried that there won't be any new multiplayer units in HotS: Browder issued a statement saying that there won't be any redundant units added. Only units that fill a new role.
