Nice, a zerg campaign. Can't wait to test it out.

While I don't want to veer this off-topic, I don't think lurkers have a place in SC2.

I can't wait. Even though I mostly 1v1, I still really love the campaign.

I remember hearing that they were planning way back when they were first making the games to have it similar to the Dawn of War games, where you got different upgrades for kerrigan as you progressed the the missions. Along with newer units and mutations

I will trade lurkers for banelings any day.
PLUS, zerg is the only race that doesnt have " cloacked " units.

Also, it would be cool for Blizzard to update the sounds and music in their expansion packs.
Zerg and Protoss music is decent, but pales in comparison to SC2 Terran and BW music. With an estimated 2 year development period, I'm sure that there should be plenty of time for the sound designers and composers to whip up some new ear candy.

Cant wait, but still going to be a long time before HotS actually releases.

Yes. HotS is considered an expansion, not a stand alone game. So it will essentially be the Brood War of SC2.

They said early 2012, which I find to be surprisingly early.
With WoL still new and D3 coming out soon (right? maybe? at least, possibly before HotS? I guess now D3 is coming out after HotS for sure...), I expected HotS to come out in 2013, possibly even around that holiday season.

Awwww yeah, HotS. Hope they get it right this time. =D

This will just make the wait even harder T_T I'm so impatient to see it.

So true!
I think Blizzard actually should go and hire some pretty well-known artists for music. I wouldn't mind if Trent Reznor did the Zerg music and Daft Punk did the Protoss music .

Argghhh the tease. I wish they just randomly announced it next month rather then get my hopes up now.
|
The only positive thing I get out of this article is that Diablo III chances for coming out this year are rising!!!! I can wait till that game comes out.
Diablo III all the way baby. I have been checking that damn website for over 3 years now. Drooling over that 1 minute video released every 2 months...
How will I ever combine all these great games?

I hope they don't announce any MP changes. At all. The expansion just hits and whatever it changes, it changes.
The last thing I want to have happen is for players to start bitching about balance changes that won't be happening for another year. We'd start seeing threads about how the new Colosreavers are going to be ridiculously imba, and how players only lost because Blizzard won't buff Zerg to compensate for them getting plaguu in HotS.
|
i started a new thread about this, then found out it was already started
btw very excited to see new things from this game, exspecially some new zerg single player units and guess what will be implemented in multy!

also, a question. do we need to BUY Heart of the Swarm and that'll patch into Wings of Liberty or is it going to be like "a patch"? Like every expansion for every Blizzard game for the past 15 or so years, we're gonna need to buy it.

So it will essentially be the Brood War of SC2. I have to point out that Blizzard's statements regarding this has been unclear. Originally Blizzard said that each expansion would be a standalone game, which also expands the other game(s). In case you are wondering what that's like, Arenanet did the same thing with Guild Wars. Problem is with SC2 being instanced and editable and having a ladder and such, there are a lot of potential problems with this method.
Later on, they made no official withdraw of what they previously said, but in their FAQ one of their question/answer points (that might be gone now? I couldn't find it) mentioned that HotS would be an expansion to WoL (but I don't think elaborated anymore, but did omit standalone, and did imply that WoL was required).
Hence, I'd say it's likely it will not be a standalone — mostly due to all the problems that would have— but one cannot say that for sure, as Blizzard has been pretty unclear.
