It looks a bit small too though...:S It seems that he expanded it a bit/added those one geyser gold bases since the map was first posted here, which was nice of him. I don't know the rush distance but it currently has the same number of bases as Xelnaga. It's not my favorite map ever but it looks like it COULD provide some decent close-quarters games. I'm going to reserve judgment on it. XN Fortress looks amazing. Absolutely in love with it, can't wait to see how awesome it is in practice. Personally, I'm pretty sure that Xelnaga Caverns is going to be the standard going forward for a "small map" and Terminus will be the "large map" standard. Size-wise, I mean. Anything smaller than Xelnaga or bigger than Terminus/Taldarim seems a little silly.

If they ever move to another choke I slap their hatchery/spine crawlers so they have to go back. They're not gonna base trade. http://sc2ranks.com/us/2551878/DoctorPhil http://sc2ranks.com/us/695549/DoctorPhill I imagine you're the second one, because he's a protoss. Am I right? I'd love to see a replay of you using this strategy effectively, because I'm having trouble visualizing it.

TBH I'd rather the GSTL be the main format and the GSL be the secondary. It's far more fun to see the team spirit and "young guns" who we don't normally get exposed to. Likewise there is an extra layer of strategy/excitement in deciding which player to play in which situation.

It seems to have Blizzard's desired points of interest that Shakuras lacked, such as the blind spot in base, the not as easy to take natural, and a third base on low ground with the Xel'naga Caverns-like ring around the back. I'm pretty please with Typhon so far in my games as well. It's plenty large and good for macro game. typhoon imo is such a stupid gamble map. you pretty much cant fe cause if the enemy wants to allin you he has like 270° of area around the expo to attack.

As far as the other match-ups, this should make the map a lot more interesting; 3rd bases shouldn't be totally free.

I imagine you're the second one, because he's a protoss. Am I right? I'd love to see a replay of you using this strategy effectively, because I'm having trouble visualizing it. I'm neither of those, I play on EU. http://sc2ranks.com/eu/276237/DoctorPhilHere it is http://www.gamereplays.org/starcraft2/replays.php?game=33&show=details&id=196578 (read the comment there please) I lost a lot of sentries zealots at the start when I wasn't looking, and I still won, that just goes to show how much room for error there is when there's chokes to abuse. Edit: here's another one, I even beat a 3k masters with it in this one. http://www.gamereplays.org/starcraft2/replays.php?game=33&show=details&id=194734

I have to say that I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the removal of Shakuras for Typhon. Typhon Peaks is a much better competitive map than Shakuras especially nowadays, and I love that map. Can anyone upload these maps to NA? I wanted to play one of them yesterday but I couldnt find them... <edit> @up I watched the replay vs the 3k masters, and I don't get it. You just did a standard contain. The zerg could very well use the back path to flank you, yet he didnt - just bad decision making, it happens - so what was your point with that replay? =
