Typhon Peaks by Blizzard

Metalopolis is the last map from the "original" map pool left in the GSTL then... (and I imagine it will transfer over to the GSL).
Just from the pictures, I like the new map choices. I think the player feedback about the Blizzard one, Typhon Peaks, was generally positive as well.

Sad to see Shakuras out, but these new maps look good.
|
hollllllly KT sponsoring GSL? This is huge D: also that would be weird with KT's sc1 team no? oO;
|
Hmm not sure I like those new additions. Although xelnaga fortress looks interesting don't like the addition of typhon and that Duel site map. reminds me of testbug and just think it looks ugly (just personal opinion ).
I do like these maps more then LT/Scrap though

Xel'naga Fortress and Dual Site looks sick.
Nice to see some 3 player maps about.
I thought at first it was minerals in the middle of Xel'naga then I realised it was just a pattern on the ground lol.
Hopefully these maps can produce some amazing games like the new maps did last season, and kudos to GOM to keep the map pool rotating.

Xel'Naga caverns is still there too

dual site mysteriously looks just like testbug
|
Good to see some 3 players map added ! I feel bad for Shak though, i think it's better than Typhon.

|
The new additions look great. Although Typhon Peaks??? ........
|
Wow! Sponsored by KT? That's hilarious and yet... I wonder how much this changes in view of everything lololol
|
oooh, the Dual Site tileset looks awesome!
|
Not a big fan of Typhon Peaks (because aesthetically it's looks terrible, not balance), would have liked to see Shattered Temple instead, but oh well. Sad to see Shakuras getting phased out.
|
i wasn't around during brood war, why is a KT sponsorship a big deal?
|
Dual site looks like an interesting map. One more map where it looks like forge FE is possible, but could possibly be punished due to rocks.
Xelnaga fortress looks pretty good, although 3rds look somewhat tricky
typhon I'm sort of mixed on, it's a macro map, but the wide natural makes it tricky against lots of zerglings.

I wonder how this will change the politics(?) of eSports in Korea?

Holy shit. This alone is probably the biggest news coming out of the thread

I'm happy to see Scrap go (mostly just because I hate it and suck at it). Not quite sure how I feel about the new maps, I have Typhon Peaks downvoted just because I was too lazy to learn it. Although I'm sad to see Lost Temple (such a classic map) and Shakuras (the original SC2 macro map) go.
