A lot of messages are queued one after the other. For example: if a "you need additional pylons" is playing, the "we're under attack" sound will play only after the previous one finishes, even though both things could've occured right after each other. If the queue becomes too long, messages may not even play. I've been nuked without a "nuclear launch detected" warning playing at all. The way it was in BW is so much better. There's a short recognizable sound right away to draw your attention and that sound is different for each type of warning, so for example you know you're under attack right away by the short pinging sound that plays. The messages themselves are short and clear(all the under attack warnings in SC2 are "our asses are being kicked") and they play right away, instead of waiting for the previous ones to finish. | ||

Semi-on topic: The "we are under attack" audio sounds really wimpy. I'll cite zealots: Brood War: "OUR FORCES HAVE ENGAGED THE ENEMY!" SC2: "We cannot hold!!!!" Such a little priss. | ||

Yea I've definitely had some minimap ping lag before, but very very infrequently I think. And that the OP mentions it, I'm pretty sure my audio lags half the time, because now that I think about it, I almost always see the minimap ping before hearing the audio. | ||
