But now there is 85k USD on the table. Changes pretty much everything. Especially when we are talking about Cool or July, one of the top favorites to win GSL.

I'm sticking with zerg in hopes that one day we get a unit worth spawning before tier 3

This news makes me a emo zerg, i really hope any zerg will win any tourney. So we will get massive buffs :l No seriously dont give up cool !

can't say i'm surprised at all, i'm not sure if roaches back to 1 supply would even break even at this point

=(. I hope this imbalance gets balanced soon. T and P only being played isn't fun to watch.

i guess they just don't mind taking 2 years to balance the game when people are trying to play it for a living I can't help feeling the same way. Wanting to take a slow and cautious approach is all well and good, but I can't imagine any balance changes that could possibly make things worse. So what if they release a major patch with a lot of significant changes and, shock and horror, Zerg is a little bit imbalanced and they need to backtrack a bit?
Who cares? I'd rather have 3 playable races. The way see it:
Right now, there is a major problem that begs major fixes. Why not leave the minor, pitiful changes (like in 1.1) until the balance is actually close- and only minor changes are needed?
I really don't understand Blizzard's intense fear of somehow making Zerg 'too strong'. Is it somehow worse than having either of the other races far too strong- as is currently the case with Terran?
|
Wow I had no idea how severe the zerg situation was, even in Korea. Now I might consider switching races if it only gets ridiculously harder.

For diamond as a whole, terran isn't that strong from the numbers.
Like, Cool is complaining about Terrans who can control three dropships threatening drops constantly while simultaneously expanding across the map. That isn't going to be an issue for most people.

At high skill levels people can do multiple drops while macroing. This is very hard for zerg to deal with especially when terran bio can wtfpwn hatcheries really fast without zerg being able to defend all their expos at once.
At levels (when I was playing 2 weeks ago lol) of mid - low diamond I can just sack an expo and macro know that the person killing my stuff doesn't have the multitasking skills to keep up solid macro with his attack.
Also lower level people have trouble dealing with hive tech, higher level people abuse zerg so that when they hit hive tech they can't afford their broodlords and ultras in the quantities that they need to win.
Zerg is at a solid disadvantage when it comes to holding chokes compared to the other races, in BW I could hold my expos with 3 lurkers + a defiler, no such thing in SC2 for zerg while toss got FF and siege tanks are siege tanks. Zerg harass feels lacking compared to the other races too, another BW example is 12 cracklings + defiler vs expo aka giant middle finger to cannons and any static D.

That's stupid. Nobody should be playing SC for a living, maybe as an experience or something, but those who try to make a living off it deserve to get screwd. It's just a game.

I'm going to stick with Zerg. At their level, it may or may not actually be this difficult, at mine, I have a positive win ratio. I got promoted to diamond from plat by going on a 7 game win streak vs terran. Saaay whaaaaaaat?

He still should be beating zergs lower or equal in skill to him.
I believe Cool meant that if he's to consistantly produce mutalisk to maintain its number, then he's not gonna have enough of roach/hydra to win decisive battles.

The only reason i stay with zerg another month is that i simply cannot believe that blizzard is going to let this go on for much longer. I am pot committed with nearly half a year of practice on the table, but I swear there are limits to how much i can take before i fold my cards.

Blizzard better be taking note of this and working overtime to save the swarm from extinction
I mean geez, Julyzerg going Terran would be fucking terrible D:

blizzard theirselves said they wanted to support professional e-sports
so... your opinion doesn't really matter

Is this some kind of a bad joke?

i wish more zerg made it to the RO16 of the GSL just to see how "effective" the patch was one balance in TvZ on the top, top level.
and i also hope that more top zergs dont change to terran for GSL2 for the same reason.
hopefully some new zerg heroes will rise up and show us how the game is to be played.

You are being ignorant and foolish. Times are changing, and many progamers in Korea are and have been making incomes way above average for a long time now.
