Then JP said that Kas beating NaDa would be the biggest upset of TSL. ??? Unless I missed something, IdrA was the only person who said that the lag was a huge factor. Day did his "oh here we go" face and Tyler just stared off into space/watched a replay.

It's alright like that since that's not the point of the show, but I think we're all missing djWheat's shows to express our opinions. Not that we should destroy MLG for what happened but I think Wheat would have been the best to direct an educated discussion on the topic. People have the forums to discuss this, but given the place SOTG has in the weekly news coverage, I was looking forward for a deeper discussion about the viewer's situation. Come back Wheat! What are you talking about? None of them were viewers and I'm not sure why you think the viewers opinion needs to be represented on SotG. I think they talked about what they should have- what it was like for a pro at the event. I just wish iNcontroL was there to add more life to that discussion.

Maybe we're just confused because this show is usually not shy about shitting on something. Otherwise a good show even though 2/4 didn't seem all that interested in doing it this week ![]()

I said I know it's not the point of the show to have the viewer's opinion. But SOTG is huge and people were expecting them to talk about it more than they did, or differently imo. Now that they don't have Wheat's shows/phone calls portion to express themselves, they're still looking for personalities to talk in depth about it. As a viewer, I want to hear more about for sure and I think Wheat has the experience to direct such a discussion with viewers.

If they can do it in Sweden(dreamhack), its wierd that MLG doesnt try to fix it.

Of course, I'm not saying Tyler doesn't know what he is talking about as he usually does; I'm merely insinuating that he is just as biased as Idra is.

Protoss players aren't exactly utilizing all their units either and aren't all over the map with pylons and DTs, warp prisms. there was a time terrans were marked as the easy race...things changed and now terrans complain about protoss...

I don't really understand what more could have been discussed. It was a crappy situation. Everyone knows it was crappy. All of them said it was crappy. MLG knows it was crappy and feels terribly embarassed about it. Having 12 people call in and say the same thing about how crappy it was would not have been a productive use of time.

Others doesnt even wanna tuch the subject and the show is called "STATE OF THE GAME". Everything now is down to promoting tournaments and talking about players, and theres allmost no talk about strategies and balance. Show has become SC center v2. I love the show, but please dont be so afraid to talk about it. Maby its because they all play protoss and doesnt have anything to complain about atm, but dont just lol at idra when he wants to utter his opinion.

it was obvious they were all biting their lips as to what they really felt like saying that it was a massive failure from pretty much all fronts (except the 2nd half of sunday), and thats fine, but just leave it at that, theres no need to say that it was out of their hands when it clearly wasnt 2.) an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

Last week's episode was incredibly in depth with balance and strategy discussion. One episode not entirely focused on strategy discussion doesn't mean they are going to abandon it forever.

I think what he is trying to say is that it would have been nice to have one person on the show who wasn't at the event live and went through the streaming experience (maybe one of the people in korea atm for korea vs world assuming they watched what there was of the stream). Most of the SotG viewers were not at MLG so our experience was different than the ones of those on the show, both sides need to really understand that. Why do you think they take viewer questions on SotG? To help strengthen a connection between the audience and the cast and make the show more interactive.

'Protoss doesn't need to attack' 'Nothing I could do' During the beta he whined about Terran being op. I didn't follow sc1 but I'm sure he whined about Zerg there too at some point. Suck it up and FITE!

While the NASL offers a crap ton of content, it's not fair to compare it with the content GSL and MLG offers. I'm not familiar with all the details, but I'm guessing most of the NASL games will be played online as opposed to on location like MLG and GSL. This offers a completely different spectator experience(crowd and player emotion for example), and together with the casters and production, makes the content very different. NASL offers more games, while GSL+MLG offers a more immersive viewer experience. I think the NASL at its early stages will take on the "filler" role while on location tournaments like the GSL, MLG, and Dreamhack will be take on the "main event" role.
