JP already said that nothing would change for non-subscribers.

I don't understand...the normal stuff that we get now would be the same and if someone WANTED to support the show/get whatever benefits then they can. It won't hurt anyone, it'll either stay the same if you don't subscribe or get better if you do. There's no downside.

If it doesnt take anything away, I don't see why not o.o

I don't watch it live enough for it to be worth it for me, it runs to late on a school night. I just get the MP3 in the morning and listen throughout school. During the summer, I was able to watch live whenever you actually put on the show, so then I would have to see what was offered. If its like Day9's subscribers, it just isn't worth the chat badge because stream chats tend to hurt my brain, the monobattles are cool but not worth the money. If I want to support him, I just make a donation and watch his stuff.

I selected 'I don't watch live so I would gain nothing from being subscribed via Twitch.', but I might consider getting it just to support the show. That said I wouldn't benefit as I just listen to the podcast on my work commute.

Something in me just doesn't like the idea of the community being more entitled to get mad at JP for shows where things don't come together as we'd all like...it just seems contrary to the original spirit of SotG, in my humble opinion, as a long time viewer. Plus I can't tell if this money is going to MLG, or to JP, and if it does go to JP I dunno if it's to make the show or support himself because I don't know if MLG is still financing production or what the entire deal on that is.

Please, please don't turn SotG into a money farm. Keep it nice and casual.

I'm not against the subscriber idea, but bear in mind that it works for Day[9] because he puts out content everyday of the weak, whereas paying money for a weakly show seems much worse. Also, it kinda ruins the point of having MLG run the show, as the whole idea was that the show could remain free, and MLG would provide the money, and the advertisements for the show. You might as well have gone independent if there was a lard enough subscriber base. That being said, people will always want the support SotG, the show rocks so much that there are lots of loyal fans.

The only problem I'd have with a subscriber system is there is currently no guarantee how many episodes you guys will have a month (assuming it's a monthly subscription like all the other twitch ones I've seen). The "sorry guys, its been a busy month for events!" excuse isn't going to fly when people are actually paying. If you guys do decide to do it then it would have to be either through mlg or season based(I think stog has seasons?).
Sadly though, my concern is more in that I don't want to read all the crying that would happen because you guys missed a week. It happens enough as it is already. I don't want to imagine the amount of QQ when people get to use the "but I paid for it !" excuse to back up their bitching. Not that I'm saying it wouldn't be a legitimate complaint, I just don't want to read it

I'd be interested depending on price and what the service is. If it only effects live viewers, then the only way I'd pay for it would be if you moved the time on SOTG. It's too late for me here on the east coast for a weekday. If the time were moved to a better time slot, and the payment gave me additional content, then yes I would be interested.

You are entitled and whiny.
I don't believe any of the complainers would actually consider becoming subscribers in the first place. You guys just like to bitch about anything that doesn't live up to your lofty principles that you developed by sitting at home accomplishing absolutely nothing.
I might as well cry about WoW having subscription fees even when I don't fucking play it.

Anyone complaining and calling this a money grab etc is rediculous.
JP is asking if people are INTERESTED in sub program, he's not jamming it down your throats and taking certain segments or features away if you don't subscribe.
Calm down.

It would depend on where the money went, but in general, it has the possibility of hurting the show in some areas if it isn't managed carefully. If JP gets the money, then I kind of think it's okay, since it's his show, but what about the "pillars"? Their time is valuable too, easily quantifiable since many of them provide coaching services at an hourly rate. Do they get a cut? If they don't, how long until someone gets their feelings "hurt" (or since this is the internet, what happens when they get butthurt) about not getting any money? If they get money, how do you handle guest "pillars"? Same rate? Nothing? What if someone hops on just for fun (sheth, destiny, etc)? Are they turned into old fashioned phone calls (10 cents a minute domestic, 25 cents international)? Will people decline to "provide their time" if they're the only ones on the show not getting paid?
This is all up to JP of course, and I'm all for funding the people who approach their esports career like "a real job", and act professional and presentable. All the better if we can doing it without destroying the things well love (like sotg ♥). So just posting some things to consider.

this is a serious concern for people who might consider paying. everyone appreciates the work loads of those making the show, but if they are paying money for this the "im tired from travel" excuse wont be good enough anymore.
although to be fair to jp they have often put out a show on a thursday or something when tuesday wasnt an option.

no SoTG tonight?

I like the show so I would pay for it. Just be sure to not make same mistakes as movie industry; keep prices reasonable.

I don't watch live but I would probably subscribe just to support the show - I really enjoy Sotg. Just my take on it.

These are more or less my thoughts. If I pay for something I expect it to actually happen. If there is no show the subscribers will be pissed.
You should sell cups/t-shirt, or just add a donate button somewhere if you need more credits to work with, I would gladly buy one or two. For this show I will even donate (for this to happen, you kinda need to explain why MLG can't support you completely though).
I can't watch live as I live in France, having a cup or a t-shirt State of the Game is kinda more appealing than a useless stream badge
