Regarding this argument between Incontrol and Artosis/Day9:

The problem is that mech is so far removed from other strategies that you may have to practice it for months to get good.

In this case, you have to sacrifice so much as a pro to go down that route, and it might not be viable, that it's not worth it to go down that practice route. Since you'll behind in bio play if it's not viable.

In general, I think it's crazy to think that pros have every possible strategy mapped out to completion.

I have to agree with Day9 and Artosis. Mech is harder to do. But it could be stronger and win a higher percentage of games. Incontrol is not making the most sense to me :\.

I agree with artosis, it will be insanely hard to optimize it especially with how tvp is played with bio. It would result in a bunch of losses to players you normally beat easily. But in the long run you could be the one who popularizes mech. I can't wait for a terran player to do it from korea.

Yeah, Geoff resorts to being a douche again. Since episode one, I cannot recall him ever accepting any viewpoints other than his own. I still remember him making fun of Painuser for talking about Guardian Shield and +1 armor against marines. He basically went "lol ur counting bulletz, ur dum. marines op". He always gets hung up on one idea that he refuses to accept isn't the way everyone sees it. See also: Shakuras Plateau is added to the ladder map pool.

They're both right and they're both wrong. Mech is of course better than what is currently being played... But so are other forms of bio/mech or pure bio that I'm sure haven't been played yet. The game isn't fleshed out for anybody to really know what is actually best, only what works now.

I disagree with mech being harder... mech tvt and tvz is definitely easier than marine/tank or bio.

the only time you will ever see mech work is on close position map where the terran doesn't need to be defending alot of area.
