Get lots of games on your 1v1 ladder! This way you are where you should be and can feel confident about winning about half your games or more whenever you log on! I've had friends stuck on 5-0 or 4-1 forever because they don't want to find out where they really belong...

He didn't want to care about stats. So he lost the first 15 games on purpose. That way he wont focus on stats but the game itself after. After that he went like 40-45 or so.

Play zerg for a few times, then go back to terran and feel you fucking own the place. You can find out what really bothers you when playing. Realize, that it is the meaning you give winning or losing, or playing the game that kind of dictates how you feel. I made a smurf account with my guest pass, suddenly I would hit that play button bunch of times laughing my ass off. So the issue would be my statistics on my main account, like a good stat there would make me a better man.. Seriously, just drown your fucking ego like I did mine, and laugh at it while you do stupid strats like bunker rushing and all that shit. Also for the love of god pay attention to your breathing. Breath with your stomach. You might want to go down a few ladders so you can have the capability to both pay attention to your game and your breathing.

It is not about winning. It is not about losing. It is about playing. The ladder is nonsense anyway and only fools take it seriously. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, the only thing that matters is that you play. I actually think this 'forced ladder' for all multiplayer games is a detriment to the experience. If there was no 'ladder', there would be no rage stories from people who lose. The ladder matching us up to people of equal skill level is a joke. Constantly, someone who is gold will be playing against people from silver, platinum, and even some diamond. It is ridiculous.

I've lost a fair share of cheesy games, but it is those games that you remember, and next time you see someone do something it will ring a bell and you can try to react. You reacted and still lost? Well, then you have to find out what you did wrong and try to do that better next time. I actually sometimes hope for the opponent to cheese me with a specific strat, so I can try improving against it. As long as you're not playing any tournaments, you should try to view each game as a way to improve against the specific strat played against you. Oh, and one last thing that might help: If you think the game was bad, don't force yourself to "gg". I actually found that quitting without gg'ing after a bad game is helping me not to get angry too much. I just think "Ok, this went bad, next one I'll try to do better" and then you just have to push the button.

A player with a 5-0 record is perhaps better than a player with a 0-5 record, but the latter is progressing while the former is not. It's not about being the best. It's just about getting better. I would never hire a person who had never made a mistake.

Get used to losing, maybe cheese and goof around a bunch - just have fun. Then you'll have nothing to lose when you decide to go hardcore.

Apart from that the biggest problem i see right now is i wanna play perfect every match even though its not realistic, and i have no idea why im so hard on myself. It's a bit better now that i can see progress in the ladder, still it's the bigget hurddle to overcome. So what im saying is, dont be so hard on yourself if that's your problem, and secondly try changing race if you feel uncomfortable with your current race. It helped me a ton!

I really should get a smurf account. I realized just now I probably look like a giant douche typing this haha sorry! I asked you if you were from MLG and then you baneling busted me >.<

But I'm so frustratingly afraid to press the Find Game button. I'm pretty confident in my ability to play, I'd guess I'm at low Platinum level, pretty decently. I want to become better, but for some reason, I can't sit down and play. Does it get easier? Am i just crazy? I want to improve, but it just seems so terrifying. I don't get angry when I lose, and am a pretty well mannered player, so I just don't get it. Can someone tell me how to get myself to just play the game?-_- Thanks. Being afraid to loose is very common. Just explain to yourself what happens if you loose, which is pretty much nothing. You win some, you loose some, that's the way life works.

If youre enjoying the game, go for it. When youre getting angry all the time, there are better activities for you out there.
