Pick random, limit myself to cheese strats, like stupid ones too. Proxy hatch -> spine crawlers Cannon rush 6 rax marine/SCV rush You will win some games and lose some games, but must of all you will have fun and realize that the wins/losses don't matter. SC is all about having fun and getting better. Wins and losses should be a by-product.

Do something completely stupid. Just bunker rush, or proxy pylon, or offensive hatchery for 3 games. Get that fear of losing out of the way. Even though you're confident, and you don't get angry at a loss, if you KNEW you were going to win, you would obviously be playing. Go lose a few on purpose, without just suiciding 6 workers right off the bat. So just go do some stupid strats, get those jitters out of the way, then when you're sick of losing, go win!!! InfiniteIce pretty much nailed it, you just need to have that "i don't give a shit"-attitude and just fuck around once in a while to lighten up and just realize that it doesn't matter if you lose. You might think that you have read up a lot on build orders, counters etc. and think that you can execute them perfectly and thus see it as a failure if you were to lose when you for the first time play another opponent, it will happen but it won't matter. Just play!

Solution is very easy, as many suggested, just go and click that freaking button, dont even think about it.. For me, it was pretty stressful until I had solid build order, that I could execute properly, than it becomes much easier..

The player wants to improve, but he doesn't where to start, so he just ends up not playing at all because he's already mentally burnt out thinking about it.

But I'm so frustratingly afraid to press the Find Game button. I'm pretty confident in my ability to play, I'd guess I'm at low Platinum level, pretty decently. I want to become better, but for some reason, I can't sit down and play. Does it get easier? Am i just crazy? I want to improve, but it just seems so terrifying. I don't get angry when I lose, and am a pretty well mannered player, so I just don't get it. Can someone tell me how to get myself to just play the game?-_- Thanks. just play more custom games, I used to get worried about it. I started doing good and stopped careing.

Its much easier (at least for me) to lose a game in 2v2/3v3 and be like "oh well I should have done that lets play again) - and you can still focus on practicing certain things, like macro/micro or smoothing out build orders etc. And the avatars are cooler from team games. This. I never go straight into 1v1s when I open SC2. I always have at least one game on Arakan Citadel (the main 3v3 map) to make sure I'm not playing terribly, and then go ladder. Just play anything where you feel there isn't something at stake, really. Also, doing stupid builds a bunch helps. I know that I used to be afraid of playing because, for some reason, I'd be embarrassed if I lost. If you can start to look at your losses and lol, then you're heading in the right direction.

I CAN! don't worry about winning unless your really want to win. in that case accept defeat as a minor set back on your journey to winning.
