The protoss are "purity of form" while the zerg are "purity of essence". Toss are just very concerned about their form thus DRAMAQUEENS obv conclusion.

yeah i completely agree. i miss the old YOUR FORCES ARE UNDER ATTACK.
they should only say "we cannot hold" if they in fact, cannot hold.
When they see MC Probe, all the ladies disrobe.

there's definitely a lot of sound issues. I frequently miss important messages and the sound clips are kind of alarming the first time you hear them. I'm slaughtering this guy and all of a sudden "WE CANNOT HOLD" and i flip out scanning my minimap.

I don't think the AI can be programmed to calculate whether they can hold or not due to the micro in the game

Another problem I have with sounds, is that they don't 'overlap'. You can miss a lot of important notifications just because the 'Command Center Selected Sound' is still playing. In SC1 when you spam-selected units, you could hear them all, it was kinda cool. SC2 is too quiet.

When I heard 'IT'S A TRAP' for the first time, I laughed a lot.

OP has a point. When I first heard "We Cannot Hold!" and "Prismatic Core Failing!" I thought all my units had died...but they were only just engaging.

i have issues with this one. When im trying to listen to other events and all i hear is a marine announcing he has arrived (or whatever the sound is, i just remember being extremely annoyed at it)
Last night i caught myself yelling back at the marine "STFU U guys die so often im always making more, its not a big deal!"

On a side note, I think that those cries are somewhat justified, all units seems to be glass cannons in SC2.

I like this feature actually. It's unrealistic how the units overreact, but still, it's cool that there are unit specific reactions to being attacked.

i like it quite a bit, it adds more character into which strategies u play cause they make different sounds depending which unit gets attacked.
altho it makes me chuckle when it says "we cannot hold" when a scv is attacking, but then again blizzard has always liked funny sounds in the sc/wc games :p

i think it should be in the optionpan to always hear the standard "your forces are under attack" or use the modern sounds like they do now with many different sounds

the terran sounds r all really awesome but the toss sounds when under attacked r quite bad imo (t user so i love this lol)

I think blizzard needs to write a algorithm so that your units don't cry for help when you're not losing the battle. It annoys me when I hear those calls, change my view to where my army is, just to find out that I'm completely raping.
Oracle comes in, Scvs go down, never a miscommunication.
