So I'm in my base like building depots/ calling down mules or whatever when one of my units gets attacked. Even if it was just one opposing unit who took like one shot and immediately died, I'll hear something like "We cannot hold" or "A little help here" or "OMGZ I broke a nail" (one of those was made up). I don't know if this has been mentioned or maybe I'm the only one with a problem with this but it just seems kinda ridiculous. Should they just say something like "Your forces are under attack" or something like that?

My apologies if I'm just getting overly concerned about stuff that doesnt matter at all.

I'd rather get a more heroic-sounding warning than something so nondescript, even if it can be silly on some contexts.

It's far from a deal breaker for me, but I thought it was hilariously bad that you could be the aggressor as P and as soon as someone hits your guys (or maybe it's once you took focus away from the battle to macro? don't remember) they're like "We cannot hold!" I mean, come on, really now?

Like I said, it's not exactly like I'm saying it's a huge problem and needs to be dealt with before, say, giving zerg more unit diversity or giving protoss more than a single music track, but it is an annoying spot and worthy of a nitpick imo.

It does make a difference which unit cries for help. Is your dropship being attacked while travelling along the edge of the map? Your fragile banshees get damaged? The opponent takes on you main tank army? A neutral "we are under attack" couldn't give you the same amount of information.

This is less of an issue than mutalisks flapping their wings in space-tileset maps.

it makes it a lot easier to know where a unit is under attack because you don't have to look on your mini map because every unit have its own "i'm under attack" sound. If thats good or bad I don't know...

You know normally i would just snap-close this but i 100% agree. When a zealot is screaming "WE CANNOT HOLD!" im like, are you fucking kidding me? You're just going to get respawned into a goon in a few days - relax kid. If there was some context to it (maybe there is and im just missing it), i could understand...Yes it's a tiny "issue", but i agree that zealots do sound like pansies as a result lol.

I don't really mind it at all. I think Blizzard is just trying to have a different warning for each race, but I do agree they need to be changed a bit.

Turns out the goon respawning facility on Aiur is actually destroyed by the Zerg though, according to lore, so I can forgive them their fright of dying.

yea, i hate that too. which unit is it that yells "WE CANNOT HOLD" whenever they engage in combat? zealots? that makes me think they're dying every time, and then I look and they're just fighting normally. the void ray too "PRISMATIC CORE FAILING!!!" makes me react like "HOLY SHIT GET OUT OF THERE" and then i see 7 void rays fighting a hydra.

The "under attack" warning even when a probe walks in and hits your charging zealot and the different warnings depending on the unit type are terrible.
It was pretty much the first thing that ever bothered me with the beta, and I really hope they make stuff like this customizable (like have a "varied sounds" checked by default, and unchecking it just makes responses more standard). I'm sure many people want to have these sounds, and this looks like the sort of thing that Blizzard would never change (even if almost everyone were complaning about it, which isn't even the case).

I think that there should be different sounds depending on how much hp they have left, not "OMG WE ARE DYING" every single time they take a hit.
