Your forces are under attack made me look about every time..from the way it sounds the units just sound like pusscakes

"umm I'm in a heap of trouble"
I hate those too

I might just be hallucinating this one but do overlords make some dirty like old man sound sometimes?

If there was some context to it (maybe there is and im just missing it), i could understand...Yes it's a tiny "issue", but i agree that zealots do sound like pansies as a result lol.
This pisses me of especially with the zealots - given that in SC1 they were all 'MY LIFE FOR AIUR!' 'FOR ADUN' and shit like that.
Blizz - make the units not drama queens plox.
We want to hear them say things like "FUCK THERE'S A SHITLOAD OF BAD GUYS HERE BUT I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL THEM ALL ANYWAY!"
I'm pretty sure this would be fine with game classifications.

Hahahahah I have never noticed this, will check it out

Please do report or make a big issue out of this. This is actually not minor. This is SC2. It cannot have even stupid flaws like this.
|
The part that honestly annoys me the most is that there's a massive delay that sometimes happens from the time your units are in combat until the time when you even get the report. There are times when I'm watching some shit happen out of the corner of my eye while I am focused on something else, and by the time it tells me "we're under attack" I've already switched there and been killing for 5 seconds.
What's the point of a "We're in combat" warning when you don't even hear it until the fight would be half over?
|
"We cannot hold" is misleading and hearing it when one brave probe had attacked my zealot force... pansies, yep.

same lmfao

for the sound overlap issue, simply increase the number of channels (options - sound)
at first i thought those incredibly pessimistic sounds were of units that had just died - like "prismatic core failing" i was like "oh gay my voidray died" without even bothering to look
imo they SHOULD make communication sounds when units had just died and your camera was elsewhere like banshee's "MAYDAY! MAYDAY!" and "we cannot hold" coming from a zealot that had just died you can kind of judge the battle from afar based on sounds if blizzard made it like that
AND there should be different sounds for when your units simply engage the enemy, so you can tell what's being attacked
|
I agree these sounds should be looked at.
|
Even though it's a small thing and doesn't really affect gameplay that much I kind of agree. I'll have my whole army sitting at my natural and they'll send like a zealot scout, and if he attacks just once I'll get a huge "WE CANNOT HOLD" or "A LITTLE HELP HERE" thing and I'll freak out and think I'm mis-microing while his whole army is attacking mine or something.
|
What I really can't stand is when my scouting SCV is attacked and I hear "OUR SCV's are under attack". Then I start worrying that I've been dropped... Distracting as heck.
|
I had seen this on streams and even i get confused... Like wtf wheres the big battlel... Then you see a probe atacking a maurader o somenthing like that...
|
Yeah I wish there was an option to change all the cute voices to the simple "our forces are under attack" from BW.
|
LOL this happens to me, like when I send units to go attack, after awhile i'll hear zealots say "we cannot hold" like wtf im losing the battle?

at least have units broadcast those messages upon death after first engagement or something. banshees' 'mayday' calls are straight up misleading!

Totally agree. I want different sounds based on the success or failure of their attack.
"We cannot hold" is ok if they need help.
"Kicked that guy's ass" tells me to keep looking at my base.
But alas, all the sounds are recorded so we are stuck with these ones. It really is a shame though because there is nothing epic warrior about the zealots in SC2.

im so glad this got touched on
"fall back to the shadows" "no YOU fall back to the shadows you pathetic unittttt" rage

The sounds in SC2 are just bad in general. Not really sure what they were thinking with some of them; this included.
