Not voting because I don't have the beta, but Metalopolis's tileset is damn sexy. If it becomes as overused as twilight I won't complain.

That's what it says but it doesn't actually work. A friend of mine and I got paired up randomly and it gave us the map even though both of us opted out on it... wtf!?

Hating oasis, and scrap is alright.

still surprised i haven't seen anyone abusing the hell out of those cliffs on kulas ravine yet.

Overall the maps are very good, if you don't think so, take a look at the Starcraft 1 release ladder maps

(and i know this is for 1v1 only, but TWILIGHT FORTRESS FOR 2v2 IS SO DUMB!!!!!!)

Desert Oasis is a horrible horrible map. I think I lose 90% on this map because I do not go some cheesy ass air build or something. No way to pressure opponent + no way to get a 2nd or 3rd base is really lame. Might as well call the map "you better 1 base tech into something queer or else you lose"

Other than that...I like all of the maps ^^

I hate Desert Oasis. Mains too close together by air, too much cliffspace, extremely long push distance, difficult to expand anywhere.

As far as 2v2 maps, I hate the one with the shared mains.

I really don't like the backdoor rock entrances because they seem to mostly take away from the game rather than add things. It's just an option that strengthens any timing push.

I would rather see destructible rocks as methods for opening up terran tornado-chrysalis style over the "Oh shit my main is going to be wide open in 30 seconds."

I've actually enjoyed Desert Oasis a lot more than I expected considering the funny nat setup. I think this is due to the longer rush distance and the fact that I have most of my longer games there.

Steppes of War and Scrap station are the two I have X'd out at the moment. Steppes is just dull -_-

shit like this happened in wc3 too iirc.

I think what it does is search for your preferences, then if it times out, it pairs you up with an opponent on any map and compares the vetoed. If both players have vetoes, it just ignores them all together. but if one has all maps and one has vetoes, then it will limit the selection still.

Bot, I can't believe BS is tied for 2nd place as favorite map wtf is wrong with you people?
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

Just have a spotter in the path ur not attacking from, or build some pylons at the narrow choke and a bunch of cannons at the nat and its ez.

but what you should have already been doing is controlling the 3 watch towers and/or whatever common paths the enemy is taking. leave a probe outside his ramp and use it to check when he expos as well.

Just had another game where the damn back door on blistering oasis cost me the game... I mean I know I should adapt to deal with it (my weakness) but on the other hand it's frustrating how every damn game I play on there comes down to that backdoor.

Blizzard please fix map preferences so they work ty!!~

No ramps in KR? Two words - Warp Prism (replaces the Shuttle for P) for areas without stairs. However, there are only two areas with resources that are not stair-accessible (one at the top and one at the bottom of the map), and you should not need to access either until late in the game.

KR (like Metalopolis) has lots of resources; unless you rush/get rushed early, you should chew your way through most of the tech tree easily (even as the resource-hungry P).

Haven't seen Scrapyard yet.

Biggest surprise - KR has LOTS of gas; every mineral patch has two vespene geysers!
However, the big PROBLEM with Kulas' Ravine is that it's not exactly defense-friendly (you need ground and air-based defense on three sides, and that's if you're in a corner).
