+ Show Spoiler [My thoughts] +I play random (190 games total now) My favorite map is SoW right now. You can have quick games just as well as long macro games on this map. Especially cool for TvT. Very well thought out placements for everything, very natural flowing map. Desert Oasis, and Blistering sands are the worst maps imo. Desert is just too big and spread out, the mains are really open and the natural isn't that close or safe either. There is no incentive to take the regular mineral base over the yellow one ever (they should remove gas there or something) The islands are good though. The watchtowers have almost 'too good' of placements. Blistering is just bad, the 3rd base is rocked, your main has a really really close back door. There isn't enough bases, the bases are too spread apart, etc. Mains are huge, (take up like 40% of the map). the 4th base is passed the middle of the map, very dangerous to take. The shit is just bad. I would make changes like this to BS if I could Never played a game longer than 20 or so minutes on SY, seems like this map is all about timing rushes and stuff like that. It's ok but kinda bland. LT is ok, wide open mains make it kind of a pain to decide on tech route when you are unable to scout easily. I like islands lately. Pretty solid map. Kulas is probably my second or third favorite map, Everything about it is pretty good. The only thing I don't like is how long the path is between bases with the narrow choke in the middle. Metal was my favorite map at first (because the tilset is cool) but now I kinda hate it, no good/safe places for overlords. Big wide open spaces and mains, and lots of hills make it easy to get flanked and surrounded. expansion layout is kinda open too. Overall I think the maps are pretty good so far.

zerg scouting on scrap station is a bit harsh. I like the idea of the map though, for example you decide to take the long way round, but by the time you get there, your enemy is in your base.

Steppes is fun
Kulas allows longer games
Hate: Desert / Scrap
Both have horrible walks for ground units

Worst is Oasis. Blizzard still doesn't realize the importance of an easy nat?

Kulas is so hard for ZvP if you cant win early game, that map is made for colossus mobility. So hard to be able to defend all your expo's

I hate maps without ramps, and that map I just can't PvP right on it.
*Also I never played the 2v2 maps (Shakuras Plateau and Twlight Fortress), they any good?

I really hate kulas. I don't know why, I just play bad there.
I feel most comfortable on steppes.

I like Kulas the most, dislike Oasis the most.
Everything else is pretty mehh.

Blistering Sands is too hard TvP because of the back door and hard to get third, Desert Oasis is impossible to defend, and I just don't like Scrap Station for no particular reason.

Basically I agree with you. Desert Oasis doesn't work for tvp or tvz, and blistering sands' backdoor is brutal. I think almost every one of my losses on blistering sands was because my opponent abused the backdoor. There are ways to deal but they are costly and make it hard for t to win.
