The only thing I really have to add is I doubt all of Earth's forces are gone. After all the UED was just an expedition force, I wouldn't be surprised if what they sent was just 10-15% of their total firepower. Whether or not they'll show up in HOTS? I'm not sure, but I'm not ready to get rid of the possibility just yet.

Only a small fleet was sent by Earth and it almost conquered the whole Koprulu Sector. Imagine if a like a huge fleet/armada was sent? Well this whole talk is different though. Earth and probably Mars etc (?) are conquered by Earth is a super military power. Them returning is small as you said but I can't say I will be sad if they return, they were awesome. Good post OP. Got me more hyped for HotS.

Ohhhhh shit. Thats really fucking intresting. Nice find Ok, im just going to ramble for abit, because i have a train of thought in my head that I cant properly form into a decent paragraph. The hybrids are obviously controlling the Dominion, and probally Mengsk. When they started controlling him, I have no idea (Possibly after Korhal got nuked? Made some sort of deal, maybe around that time? If not then during the broodwars/after. Mengsk has been the upriser twice and seems to have his eyes set on ruling the terrans.) Valerian, is working for his father, wherether he means it or not. Valerian paid Tycus/Jim to retrive the artifact while Tycus was under the control of Mengsk the entire time. I think Tycus's release was done for the sole purpose of killing Kerrigian, because of his dialog about her during the campagin (He doesn't want Jim to go after her on char, because he still enjoys the freedom and life that he has been denied while in prision, and knows that if Jim has a chance to turn her human, he will never let her pay for her crimes.) And Jim is the only person who could've rescued Kerrigian? He has the most experience as a human in combat against the zerg and has faced/worked with kerrigian more than anyone else? Kerrigian did let him go when they first met on Char (Yes/No?) But if the Hybrids are controlling the dominon and causing all this, why? It's seen in the protoss missions that they can easily deal with the hybrids (Could infested kerrigian overcome them? How did kerrigian die in the future seen by the overmind? Killed by Tycus?) Also, a question about the Xelnaga artifact age. When did the protoss have the Aeon of Strife? When did the dark templar first leave Auir?

We only know that Duran controlled some factions of Terran. Kerrigan did let Raynor go when they met on char. That's because she remembered she loved him back when she was Terran. Also, the BW Kerrigan was very sadistic. According to Lore, Zeratul was born circa 1800 earth time. And he still remembers the Aeon of Strife The Starcraft timeline is a bit messed so I wouldn't try to dig too much into the timeline it self. Also, I'd be happy if the OP could explain his claim that the artifact is too young.

If i am not totally mistaken, the Koprule Sector is far away from earth, i think i remember 50 years flight, but that could be wrong. So unless earth launched one expedition force, and then randomly decided 5 years later that they should launch another one while the first one will still be on flight for a long time, we can assume that there will not be other UED forces for at least half a century. Or of course strange Wormhole or new propulsion stuff could be happening, but if they don't change the rules, the UED is probably done for regarding this story.

There is a connection, but I would assume Mengsk either has struck a deal or is delusional about the whole thing. If so, it is more probably he bargains with Duran than Hybrids. Easily? I don't know about that. Maar is almost invincible, and the ones seen in In Utter Darkness seem to be almost endless in numbers. Kerrigan is seemingly killed by the Protoss. Quote, Dark Voice: "Foolish, prideful children. There was one among you who could have jeopardized my great plan. But in your recklessness, you mistook here for the true threat."

It is of course because of the Dark Voice that this is relevant to the discussion, as he resides where? In the Void, of course. I'm not sure how this will play out, or if it even will at all, but it's worth speculating over. Lastly, I think I have found the tiniest detail yet. If you poke the Dark Templar, he will say the following: "I hear an ancient voice, whispering from the Void, and it chills my lightless heart." The use of the words "voice" and "Void" are giveaways, and the DT's reaction speaks endlessly of DV's potential powers. Also, before you start the campaign for the first time, you will see the following text (I think it's only there the first time): "For the past four years, freedom fighter Jim Raynor has haunted the edges of the Terran Dominion, pursuing his crusade to overthrow the tyrannical Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. But things are about to change. A terrible power has reawakened, forcing Raynor to make a choice between pursuing his vendetta - or fighting to save mankind."

Yeti? Really Blizzard?? How difficult could it be to come up with an original name? Are we also going to a jungle planet to collect Big Foot DNA?

Of course we know it looks a bit differently. But if you follow the story and the scenes in bw, you notice that the UED is a propaganda state, starting a war to gain new ressources pretending to save the humans of earth So they won't come back until they find another reason to invade the sector. As for the artifact ... from a terran point of view ... it destroys zerg dna ... and we are talking of the dominion, i am sure they did some reasearch on recently infected terrans test subjects. After receiving some data from the hyperion. I mean even if it would be older then kerrigan or not ... it has some reaction to the zerg, a fast evolving species, so anything that should have an effect on zergs after a few years it has to be able to adapt to them. And since they are an created race i guess there are parts of them that always stayed the same, as a sort of backup plan for the xelnaga playing around ^^. No one wants a planet of the apes i would say. So put a killswitch in em ! About the yeti: Ever heard of easter eggs/running gags . They make the games 131,5% cooler. And what would you as a redneck terran call a white furred thing, on two legs coming out of a snow storm ... Yeti maybe ? So good choice in every regard. Zerg name for that thing is probably food ... and the toss name for it is probably something tossish heh.

An easter egg is never that obvious, it's something hidden or more subtle. And in HotS you will not be playing as a redneck terran.. ![]()
