just beat this on brutal with air, combination of valks, siege tanks, marines, various turrets and alot of apm
thought of trying nukes but never got round to it, siege tank positioning is cruicial and split up valks into 4/5 each side and rest in middle.
right at the end save pulse as long as possible then sacrifice valks to take dmg.
right before kerrigan comes you must unsiege your tanks on your strong side and move it to your weak one, this will cause kerrigan to come to the side you want, once shes appeared you can simply move them back

Mass siege tanks.
A lot of siege tanks.
Siege Breakers.
...and Psi Disruptors.
Near the end, I had to block off the Artifact with Supply Depots, it actually worked very well.
|
On hard I beat it pretty easily with mass tanks and banshees. I did the no air mission so my banshees hand free roam to snipe off nydus worms while my tanks killed everything else. Have not tried brutal and don't intend to unless I'm really bored
|
Mass tanks, mass those flame thrower turrets beneath them and 2 banshees for the nydas that pops up in your base. It's ridiculously easy, 3-3 tanks decimate zerg and you can max out your forces on that one base fairly quickly. Impenetrable :D
|
I finished All In in normal difficulty but my profile is still showing Compaign not finished ,, anybody know why ????
|
4 planetary fortresses on either side and only siege tanks made! I built ~8 banshees to kill nydus worms, but didn't really need to use them too much. Also, all my tanks were on the low ground :D
|
One of my friends finished the quest with mass tanks inside the gates, as he made the choice to "pick the zerg units" addons, he picks ultralisks and kills zerglings with tanks and picked ultralisks, and he barely completed the quest (I don't know which difficulty, but nydus choice is so stupid in the quest before the allin one as he said).

ugh this level is pissing me off. Need to get more upgrades somehow

Like people have said:
with nyduses: rax walls, around ~10 sieges per side + mass rines from wall for kerri to have something to play with when she comes. Did it without any mercs. Forget about killing nyduses, tanks will just rape everything except kerri anyway. Psi disruptor good but not necessary. Keep a decent amount of scvs to REPAIR the rax walls too. Did it like this on brutal.
with air: same wall, same marines 5-7 tanks per side + mass mind control towers. ~5 at the back of your base + MAX around artifact. I managed around 35 total. Take every muta + broodlords you can. If you survive 1st Kerri attack you win, because after that you'll have such large muta/broodlord swarms she'll die almost instantly to muta/tank. A few scvs to reapir walls will be necessary. Did it like this on hard.
general notes: Keep an eye on your walls. If the raxes fall (they will at some point) make sure to rebuild them as quickly as possible. They are vital to your survival. Keep an eye on Kerri, around the 3rd time, she'll start to use psi matrix which rips marines + mutas to shreds. Dodge dodge dodge. Make sure Kerri can't get to your expensive units like tanks, BCs, Thors, ghosts what-have-you... to 1-shot them lifting them up. That's what your marine fodder and mutas are there for.

these are really interesting strats. im having a bit of trouble too so this is def gonna help

How would planetary fortresses perform on this map? I, like all other chose orbital command, but been thinking about how a PF planted as wall would perform and have a wall of SCV's and other stuff behind (also allow fast replen of SCVs if they die)?

With the right tech this is really easy to beat.
1. a-move everything that isn't a tank, SCV or marine into the Zerg. You don't need those stupid BCs using up supply.
2. sent your first 2 tanks on top of the cliff and siege them at the very edge towards your base.
3. build psi disruptors on every side of your base. Build them on your side of the cliff, just below the ramps. 3 on each side is enough.
4. Get tech reactor on rax and fact. Get attack upgrades.
5. Nonstop build tanks and marines. Siege tanks along the cliff in a kind of upside down U-shape (kill that stupid merc thing). Keep marines well outside the action.
Not a single Zerg unit will get through the tank fire. It's hilarious.
Once Kerrigan is halfway through the map use the artifact and move out with your marines, stim, and kill her. Move back to heal and rebuild the few marines you lose. Repeat.
You will need to rebuild the supply that are on the left side. There isn't really anything to do but siege tanks and build supply. If you are bored build turrets to kill the overlords.
10600 frags kekeke.

The "correct" strategy to do this on brutal is to just mass tanks on the high cliff in middle where the relic is located. Destroy unnecessary buildings from there and just get 160 supply worth of tanks. Keep replenishing. 40 SCVs. You do not even need to destroy the Nydus wurms with banshees, since the tanks clear it for you.
Use the relic whenever Kerrigan comes.

Ok didnt read all the stuff, but to SIMPLIFY: 1. Wall off using Planetary Fortresses (like 3-5 per side) 2. Place a ton of SCVs behind 3. Behind that just MASSSSS Tanks. 4. Build a group of Banshees with cloak and kill the nydus worms 5. ? 6. Profit
P.S. Of Course you get rid of Air in the previous mission
|
1.Mass Seige Tanks off 2 facs with Tech Reactors (assuming you have them) 2.Mass Banshees off 2-3 Starports with TRs 3.Mass MM (Marine medic) off 2 Rax 4. ??? 5. Profit!
|
what works surprisingly well (done on brutal) is mass marine medic. of course with combat shield, stim, and those medic upgrades. they just pick everything apart. when kerrigan comes, just spread out your force; if you stim and attack she usually will last for about 3 seconds before hopping underground again. you dont even need bunkers.
i did the nydus worm all-in on hard (+achievement) and air on brutal (took way too long) the great thing is, even if you dont get the tech reactor upgrade, u can just pump marines and medics from barracks with reactor (make around 4-6) (provided, of course, that you got all of the marine and medic upgrades at the armory console). also take advantage of your forces that you get in the beginning and pump scvs to saturation.

(vs Ground)
Bunkers are sissy. Wall in with Orbital commands, enjoy infinite income and less supply investment in scvs. Build repair scvs right out of the walls to replace losses. Giggle at the sight of 30 mules falling on top of Kerrigan. PF walls are a nice idea but they cost gas to repair and thus take away from your tank count.
Then make a squad of banshees (8-10) and infinite tanks with +3 weapons. Psi/Hivemind Emulators if you have 'em.

You, sir, are awesome. Just imagining dropping a bunch of MULEs on kerrigan makes me crack up.

New user so I can't post a new thread.
Question: Can you EMP Kerrigan? Does that stop her from using the insta-kill and psionic storm rip-off?
|
Ehh, I don't have either of the siege tank upgrades at the armory... and I'm not able to hold both chokes even with spending all of my gas on just tanks with +3 attack.
I don't have enough credits for siege tank upgrades... need 25000 more for maelstrom rounds; however I went back to do a mission and collect research that I missed, but the game wouldn't let me sell that research for credit? Is there any way to get credit then?
