imo i think klopp and slots 1st season has made liverpool fans too entitled. going through a rough patch where liverpool havent crashed out of cl places yet shouldnt be enough for slot to get sacked | ||

But right now I think we need a change of pace, let Alonso tool around with the team, then look for where the team needs reinforcements to go into the transfer window with clear ideas. The alternative is sacking Slot as soon as the season is over, get Alonso in, then figure out the window with much less time, which can still be ok but it requires a ton of communication between Alonso and the recruitment team. | ||

I can see him taking the rest of the season off after the Leverkusen stint and stressful stuff at Real Madrid. I saw some headline that Liverpool have been in contact with his representatives and Xabi has responded positively, but at this point it's probably anyone's guess whether Xabi wants to jump back right away and whether he even considers to be a good fit for Liverpool. I guess reunion with Wirtz seems like a decent idea, but who knows. Purely contract wise it can also be pretty nice to wait till summer when more teams are looking for a new manager. His reputation isn't going to fade away anywhere in the next few months, so no need to rush it. | ||

Currently in 25th place, so still depending on some other results going their way (for example, Juventus winning), but there's a chance. Also Schelderup with two goals vs Real Madrid. | ||
