Really marks the end of the time where Europe versus South American clashes were those of equals. Sure South American champions have won since but it’s always been a smash and grab, a heroic rearguard action. They’ve not been able to triumph with beauty really since. A great shame for such a talent hotbed, and purely down to the modern economics of the game. I hate Saudi Arabia’s current encroachment for a fuckton of reasons, but in a pure talent drain sense it’s incredibly rich of European football fans to be complaining. How is Jorge Valdivia perceived over in Chile? As a random aside, used to love watching him play. A little infuriating at times, as my all-time favourite Alvaro Recoba was but in full flow he was lovey to watch. Valdivia is considered one of the best #10's in our history... 100% top 5 at least in most peoples list. in my list he is #1 just for you bb + Show Spoiler + btw: about the Intercontinental cup, i see pretty much impossible for an SA team to beat the CL champion in a bo1 format nowadays. But atm Boca is in the semis of La Copa Libertadores and Boca is Boca, and Boca's mystic is legendary, add that mystic with players like Cavani, Romero, Barco, Rojo and Medina and this Boca has a little chance.

In Arsenal I think he'd develop as a player even if he'd get less play time, and I'd love for him+Ødegaard link to become stronger, they might both be NT starters for the next 10 years. Maybe the best for him would be to go for a mid-tier club, or even wait a couple years with PL, like Haaland did. Best chance for him is to play in Bundesliga for ~ 2 years at clubs like Dortmund or Gladbach. They are pretty good with young raw talent. Dortmund especially (Bellingham, Haaland, Sancho to name a few in the last 2 years)

mourinho was still a very good manager when he went to united, but he wasnt going to win a title at a club thats broken beyond repair.

Poch should have gone to United after Ole’s successful caretaker spell. Ole did great, was never really going to be a top class permanent manager, Poch was still relatively hot. I wonder if Poch has just been unlucky with timing and he’s been on semi-sabbatical for so long that he’s missed his window to really do anything.

Also showed that we have issues defensively, but Antonio Nusa is a name to familiarize yourselves with. 18 years old, plays in belgium now, but targeted by a couple top PL teams. Extremely promising player, pacy winger who can dribble guys. 3 assists and 1 goal from his first two games for Norway. He also comes off as really humble, yet hungry, so his development should be great. Ødegaard seems to be trying to get Arsenal to grab him, but I hear Chelsea are also interested. Gotta say I hope he goes for Arsenal, if the rumors are true. Liverpool to replace Salah and also get under the 3 year time limit to register as a homegrown player? Knowing us though, we'd probably want someone more established to fill Salah's shoes if we end up selling him to SA.

First vs second, Bayer vs Bayern, 11 goals in 3 games vs 9 goals in 3 games. All is set for an awesome game. Let's hope it's not gonna be a safety first snooze fest

I think he had some pretty weird press excuse on how even Brighton spends a lot nowadays. It didn't really look like a manager who is expecting things to improve rapidly. I think so far the losses have been somewhat acceptable due to injuries and good opposing teams - Arsenal, Spurs and Brighton are no pushovers - but surely he is walking in dangerous territory currently. Next stop is away vs Burnley. A shaky game there and he's really in trouble.

If you not getting the results and playing people out of position its not going to end well.
