Does David Beckham have a secret bank account that nobody ever knew of or something?
Inter Miami are set to confirm the signing of Jordi Alba, while Lionel Messi will make his debut for the MLS club on Friday, owner Jorge Mas has said.
Alba is currently a free agent after leaving Barcelona this summer after more than a decade with the club.
The 34-year-old has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but Mas said that he was set to link up with former Barca team-mate Messi.
“Jordi Alba will sign today. Messi will debut on Friday,” Mas told reporters on Tuesday.
Mas has admitted that Inter Miami could make a move for another former Barcelona star in Luis Suarez but said no talks had yet been held.
Suarez’s current deal with Gremio runs until 2024.
“Luis Suarez is a Gremio player,” Mas said. “He has a contract. We understand the close relationship that he has with Lionel, Busquets and Alba. They played together at Barcelona. There’s been a lot of talk about Luis Suarez coming to Inter Miami. We haven’t held direct talks with Gremio or with Suarez.
“I don’t know how Luis Suarez can leave Gremio. But if he does we are free to talk to Luis and bring him to Inter Miami. That possibility would be there.”

No idea how West Ham comes into that picture, but it sure is a new challenge if that's what Goretzka desires.
It's not just Tuchel it's the whole package at Bayern that runs around like headless chickens since firing Nagelsmann with the cherry on top: Old man Hoeneß making stupid public anouncements again.
I can fully understand Goretzka wanting to leave. I cannot understand going to West Ham. He could easily play at a top 5 club since he has like the perfect player profile for the PL.

Their leadership has been calm and collected since the season ended, working on their plans. The sole exception was Hoeneß going off on one of his rants. Don't really understand the "headless chicken" assessment one bit.

The situation with Goretzka is that Tuchel isn't a big fan and has - rightfully - revoked his starting eleven carte blanche. Goretzka doesn't want to leave at all at this point. This might change if Bayern sign a high class CDM since Tuchel is pushing for one. But Goretzka wants to fight for his spot and if he decides to leave later in the window, he's sure to aim higher than West Ham.

More people are watching them now though right, last season they clearly didn't care about Europa league, all be it when they did they lost to Sporitng lol, so they were playing once a week with hardly any injuries and got top top of table. Then they blew that with one injured CB? They have "strengthed" that area with a guy called Timber who might be no better than Holding, but the big thing is again there tactics will be way more scrutinised now, and people adapt to them.
Add in playing champions league they cannot rest players anymore and rotate, they will be playing harder games more frequently with more eyes drawn to them.
My biggest thing, fuck me did they have a lot of luck last season lol. You need luck to win the league no question, City and Liverpool all have it, but they had so much luck last season with VAR decisions, playing teams "at the right time", scoring last minute goals via deflections etc, some of the luck was earned but it was still a lot of swings for them which just won't happen this year.
Injuries is also a big one, Saka goes out or Odegaard goes out and they will struggle.
Might be more of a wishful thinking post by me but still, a guy at work agreed and he is Liverpool fan xD

They’ve got Rice augmenting their midfield and the enigma that is Kai Havaertz, let’s see what Arteta can do there. They’ve got more defensive depth, a problem last season.
At present United is United from last season plus Mason Mount. Chelsea is a million young players
Newcastle have to March what they did last time and Liverpool have to blood a bunch of new players
I can see a few teams hating those goals but you need all of them to do so to unseat Arsenal having a spot in the CL

Xhaka leaving is going to have a bigger impact than most people seem to be talking about. Arsenal might make top 4 but I don't see them challenging for the title again

Xhaka wasn’t exactly highly rated, he had a good season last, I’ve always felt he got an unduly hard time and is a decent player.
Rice is an upgrade. Who knows if Arteta can unlock the mystery box that is Kai Haavertz but if he can, that’s a hell of an asset. Let’s not forget that Jesus started very well and was a big miss for a big chunk of the season. Strengthened in depth at the back too, and they definitely suffered when Saliba got injured.
City haven’t really refreshed, they’ve won the treble, are they as up for it?
Chelsea are a big unknown quantity. United weren’t especially close to the top 2 last season and their only move so far is for Mason Mount (who is very good to be fair). Liverpool have done good business and look to be shaping up well. Are Newcastle really a top 4 team or did they strike lucky when others were misfiring?
Looks an interesting season in prospect, I’d give Arsenal and maybe Liverpool a shot in properly challenging City this season

I agree that it will be an interesting season. There are some intriguing questions which you've identified. Can Haaland have another season like last year or will there be some regression to a more "normal" stat line?
My personal prediction is that Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U will be better than last year. Arsenal and Newcastle will be worse. Man City will probably not win a Treble but still good enough to win the title. I can see any iteration of the top 5 teams being plausible.
For me personally I'm excited to see what Maddison can do at Newcastle, he's been one of my favorite players for a long time but injuries and Leicester's issues sort of limited him. With Newcastle being a real team now and hopefully enjoying a lot of possession there is real potential for him to take over games.
The Saudi league stuff is just sad to me but I can't blame the older players taking the ridiculous contracts to play in an easy league.
Biggest upset for me is no Bellingham in the PL. Would be fun to watch him every week.

Oscar leaving European football was a crime he had a ton of talent. But most of China’s moves were for the past-its or never-had-its (at the very top level)
I care less about the players on the downswing but there’s some real talent getting snapped up that’s still at their peaks, or close to it. Milinkovic-Savic, Brozovic are pretty big losses to Serie A and especially their previous teams. Ruben Neves is another that really should be playing in Europe

Looks an interesting season in prospect, I’d give Arsenal and maybe Liverpool a shot in properly challenging City this season I know that it's just a friendly and we're not playing our starting XI, but Liverpool's right is still a gapping hole in defense, even after moving TAA to the 6 in the friendly. We desperately need to sign at least 2 more defenders, one RB and one CB/LB. Our offense is very strong but we're a glass cannon right now and Allison can only do so much as GK with our defense looking like swiss cheese. For sure we're good enough for CL next year but top 3 is still gonna be tough.

Yanited btw imo, are a midfielder and striker away from really competing for the league.

Yanited btw imo, are a midfielder and striker away from really competing for the league. Odegaard and Saka are phenomenal players who Arsenal got cheap, the former through smart business, the latter via academy. Martinelli is quality too
Jesus is excellent and if I was feeling uncharitable I’d rub that in with certain posters on this thread
Defence is solid, keeper is solid, Partey is quality
Why Arsenal were so good last season was they had a way of playing and they executed it most weeks. They’ve still got that except upgrades in personnel
City - Won the lot, no reinforcements, may lose some players will the hunger be there? It could be obviously
United - Starting to take shape. Mount’s a good player. Don’t have a true number 9 yet. Arsenal are currently a better squad
Chelsea - Fucking shitshow season, super ridiculous squad that’s finally being pared down to sensible. IMO Poch is a fantastic appointment as he does his best work with hungry young players who maybe haven’t done a huge amount, so I think there’s potential for a huge improvement, but whether that comes.
Liverpool - Very promising moves, I think they’ll be extremely competitive
Newcastle - Good squad well-coached but realistically are they top 4 because a large proportion of the traditional occupants misfired?
Spurs - Fuck off. (My brother’s words not mine, he supports them!)

I would recommend shrinking the field size a bit, so the old gentlemen wont get exhausted as quick. This reminds me of the good old indoor tournaments with players during the winter off season where the former great get to kick it again for the fans. Oh those were great times.
|
because they run too much. players should focus more on precise passes. too many players prefers to run 30meter then a 10m pass instead of a 40meter pass.
If there should be change on pitch, I go with 10 vs 10. pitch, goals and penalty area/sizes are fine.
