Suarez might join as well.
FC Bayern has not yet reached an agreement with a possible buyer for Sadio Mané (31). Now, however, the winger is said to have zeroed in on Al-Nassr as his new employer. According to a report in the French newspaper "L'Équipe", the Senegalese gave his consent to a move to Cristiano Ronaldo's team.

We still wont finish top2 next season Will struggle for top 4 imo, good job next season top 5 will get champs league though. Doubt it. Young squad, have strengthened where they needed additions and depth, got business done early Stranger things have happened though! More people are watching them now though right, last season they clearly didn't care about Europa league, all be it when they did they lost to Sporitng lol, so they were playing once a week with hardly any injuries and got top top of table. Then they blew that with one injured CB? They have "strengthed" that area with a guy called Timber who might be no better than Holding, but the big thing is again there tactics will be way more scrutinised now, and people adapt to them. Add in playing champions league they cannot rest players anymore and rotate, they will be playing harder games more frequently with more eyes drawn to them. My biggest thing, fuck me did they have a lot of luck last season lol. You need luck to win the league no question, City and Liverpool all have it, but they had so much luck last season with VAR decisions, playing teams "at the right time", scoring last minute goals via deflections etc, some of the luck was earned but it was still a lot of swings for them which just won't happen this year. Injuries is also a big one, Saka goes out or Odegaard goes out and they will struggle. Might be more of a wishful thinking post by me but still, a guy at work agreed and he is Liverpool fan xD They were by a distance the league’s second best team They’ve got Rice augmenting their midfield and the enigma that is Kai Havaertz, let’s see what Arteta can do there. They’ve got more defensive depth, a problem last season. At present United is United from last season plus Mason Mount. Chelsea is a million young players Newcastle have to March what they did last time and Liverpool have to blood a bunch of new players I can see a few teams hating those goals but you need all of them to do so to unseat Arsenal having a spot in the CL You are probably right and rationally speaking it makes sense, i just still feel like these players they have overachieved a lot and Arteta isn't some tactical god that is perceived, we will of course find out and now they have spent a lot of money on the "Missing pieces" so lets see. Yanited btw imo, are a midfielder and striker away from really competing for the league.
None of Arsenals players overachieved. They got shit ton of talent in their squad. If they only had a coach who could get them to win something

For some clubs, its not always the coach, see Emery after Arsenal. I can agree with Pande here, Arsenal had lots of lucky games too. But I think they will be as strong as they were last season, maybe finishing at 4th place.

Messi, and Busquets coming on!

Haha no way, that has to be scripted...

Questions for the rules experts: In the womens world cup, japan vs zambia, the zambian keeper commits a foul on a japanese players leading to a penalty and a yellow card. However, after VAR intervention it turned out the japanese player was offside in the buildup, so penalty decision gets reversed. But apparently the yellow card still counted, since later on the zambian goalkeeper was given a second yellow for a similar offense. Unless there was another yellow card in between these incidents, this seems odd to me. Is this how it is supposed to work according to the rules?

not a rules expert and havent seen any video but you can commit a foul onto someone regardless of the play so im guessing the foul itself onto the player warranted a card regardless of whether the play was legit.
|
yeah, depends on the foul. if the foul wasn't severe, but the card was for the play, the card should be reverted. if the foul was severe, the card had nothing to do with whether the ball was in play or not. I didn't see the game, so no clue what actually happened.
Example: punching a player in the head is a red card regardless of whether the ball is in play or not. But a little tug on a shirt is only red if it removes a clear goal scoring opportunity for the opponent.
|
I'd say it was a yellow-card-worthy foul anyway. And the logic why the card stands makes sense to some extent. But even then it feels like she is being punished for a mistake on the refs/lineswomans part, because if they immediately call the situation correctly, then the whole situation which lead to the yellow card doesnt arise in the first place.
|
Still someone fouling to avoid a goal is never the way a gk should go. So in the spirit of the game correct yellow

So money laundering... but using Sports as the cover.

I think the potential is there but this ain’t it.
Allan Saint-Maximin for 25 million is a million miles off an inflated price

Seems a touch high but far from unreasonable. Premier League clubs have paid far more for a 26 year old winger

He’s still pretty young, clearly got a lot of talent even if he can be frustrating. The prices I’ve seen are 25-30 million GBP which is pretty damn low by general Prem standards these days

Transfermarkt has him at 32 mill euro, and i have the impression players are more likely to go for more than for less.

Some 3 years left on the contract too. Their metrics might not account the reputation, but I don't think 25 mil is completely unreasonable by any standards.
I guess there's a possibility the transfer sum itself isn't the whole financial story here though. You can probably do all kinds of neat accounting trickery to obfuscate the actual numbers. Some imaginative milestone/performance related bonuses come to mind for example.
