Still only 24 years old, so his peak should last for at least 3 seasons. Plus they always can play Ronaldo as a striker or on the other wing - or move Bale on Ozil's spot, depending who is going to be injuried / suspended at given point. Real is Ronaldo's tean. Bale is just another piece of the puzzle there. This is football, a team game. Everyone is a piece of the puzzle, regardless of club or reputation. If Bale is good enough - and apparently, he is - then he should leave Tottenham, because that club won't be getting anywhere near trophies and absolute top-tier play. Face it guys - the world of Champions League and top European Leagues is already divided between the giants so it will be harder and harder for teams like Spurs to compete. Frankly, I don't even see them trying that much. Fans will always talk about their teams' legends, but being a football pro is just another job and if there's an opportunity for better wages in more prestiguous company like Real, one should take it - just as the less prestigious company of Spurs should take the record-breaking bid, as Bale certainly ain't better than CR7.

If Tottenham feel that they can improve their stature in the football world by qualifying for the Champions League with Bale's help only, then they should turn down Real's offer. I find that assumption highly questionable, however. Bale might not be to happy to have another season in which he cannot really compete for a title. He should sign a new contract including a release clause for next summer.

Edit: Reminder: In five hours from this post, (17:15 GMT (+00:00)), is the start of the Audi Cup, with Manchester City playing Milan, followed by Bayern v Sao Paulo.

Which three players from chelsea should I choose ? I think Hazard definitely. Maybe Oscar. De Bruyne or some other defender? For now I think - Sturridge, Kompany, David Silva, Hazard and Oscar, but I'm really not sure... First time playing this year ! ![]() It is pretty hard at the start best thing you can do is pick a team you think will do well and if game weeks 1 and 2 they are not playing or having shockers use your "wild card" button early in week 3 (Wildcard = u get a whole reset and can rechoose your WHOLE squad for free at no point costs) and re pick. In terms of Sturridge Hazard Silva i think are good picks. Kompany with City under a new manager i don't think is a good pick. Clean sheets and goals are how defenders make points, City have been leaking goals in pre season and he is not a scoring CB so will be hard to see where his points will come from. Oscar is just another thing, Chelsea midfield is STUPIDLY overcrowded and unless your Mata or Hazard i don't think you can say they will play week in week out. Defenders i always pick LB/RBs if i can help it. Ashley Cole as he will play every game at LB for Chelsea, and has a knack for setting up goals as his energy levels are amazing. Then i also look around at other high scoring players. Agger is my other choice so far as he will play every game for Liverpool and i think they will be better defensively and he is known to score. The other is a punt a cheap one in Riether as he played really well for Fulham last year and i hope he can score me a few points (plus Fulham rarely lose heavily). On the bench in defender slot (as a play 3-4-3) i have Rat from West Ham who play defensively so i might use him if they do look like not conceding in a game and Riether gives me nothing. But of course the main place for scoring is mid+strikers. My big punt this season is Coutinho, the guy looked good last season in the few times i saw him for the Scouse, but also pre season he has started well. So i expect him to be at the hart of everything with the Scouse. Also looking to take a punt on Rodwell of Man City, not sure if he will play now but last season whenever he did (was injured alot) he was great, scored a few times, looked dangerous and was pretty much a beast.

Bale is probably worth his price if he stays in tottenham, but for now I dont got him. David Silva is really good, and I want to get him, do you think he will play a lot this season in MC? I definitely should get 3 players from chelsea and 3 from MC. Also I think tottenham will do better this season... I also sense a fall of Man united... ![]() Yeah Chelsea's midfield is really overcrowded, which is a big problem, but for sure Hazard will probably get the most play time... But the new players Mourinho brought in are probably his favorites... so I dont know. Oscar had an awesome last season, and De Bruyne is really good. Anybody else got some advice ? ![]() EDIT: For a goalkeeper I think stekelenburg is a good choice too, I'll probably go with him

In terms of why you can't choose a formation you have to select your 15 players, then you have to go to the tab "pick your team" then you just move players around by hand to change the formation. EG; Move a defender and swap him with a midfield substitute and it changes the formation that way. I always use 3-4-3 as i said Defenders are hard to pick for good points. 1 Goal against them and they lose their clean sheet bonus, 2 goals against them and they lose you 1 point then 3 goals and its -2 points etc. Plus they are more likely to get Yellow cards etc which is minus points again. Hart is ok, but i always go with Cech being a Chelsea fan, and your 3City and 3Chelsea players idea is probably a really good choice. Maybe not the Spurs reasoning, as if Bale does leave i think Spurs will be fucking awful. Don't forget they would of been mid table team without Bales goals, even towards the end of the season, the last 4 games he pretty much won the games on his own with 90+ minute wonder goals. Strikers for City is another interesting point. Who will play? Aguero Dzeko Jovetic Negredo. I think Aguero will be main choice and should be, but maybe a rotation system will be in play. So got to be careful when picking. I will be watching this "Audi Cup" which Man City are involved in and be looking at performances to see who is playing in what game and for how long to see if they might get picked, as Rodwell (my pick) might not play.

The teams that are now at the top are the ones that will claim the largest numbers of fans in these new growing markets, and brand loyalty in football lasts longer than in other markets. So being at the top right now not only is good for the short-term prizes and glory, but also means higher long-term revenues. Another point to add to this is maybe that some of the "investors" from the east see this as an access point to the western markets. Comparing to other things sports clubs are relativly easy to "buy" and give you a already established international company with a lot of attention and business contacts in the west through sponsoring. Just imagine the following news: Random Russian guy you never heared of invests 100 Million in france bank Random Russian guy you never heared of invests 100 Million in AS Monaco in which news nobody cares and in which everyone loses their mind?

I don't agree with that at all. When Levy took over as chairman, Spurs were finishing in the bottom half of the table. In the last four years, they've finished 4th twice, despite having a sizable financial disadvantage compared to the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool. The new stadium project is slowly moving forward as well. I often complain about Levy's transfer market behavior, but he's an extremely astute businessman who has brought Spurs a long way. Levy clearly has his reasons for not wanting to allow this transfer at any cost. Unfortunately, he is not the majority owner of the club. That would be Joe Lewis, a tax exile billionaire living in the Bahamas, and if Lewis gets a firm offer from Madrid for some insane world record sum, Bale will leave. In an unrelated note, I'm appalled that Caulker might be sold to Cardiff.
