I was talking about becoming one of the pro's like I mentioned Oleguer Presas, or just some random defender or midfielder from a middle to lower table team, even just a team fighting not to decend in pro league.

IMO, parents' persistence is the key. Say you are 10-12 years old and promising, but the whole adolescence is before you, and in fact only parents have any chance to keep you from alcohol, cigarettes, ganja, girls, video games and many other distractions by pushing you into lots of practice + healthy lifestyle. Plus they can make much more sensible decisions about finacial and legal stuff like contracts etc. Also, I heard that most of clubs seriously involved in youth football education pay lots of attention to the pure physical development and natural fitness and can predict that quite early in a young guy. Perhaps Oleguer was one of those natural athletes who never backed it up with technique and in-game thinking? Caus, you know, even if so, he would be still much more desirable signing than a genius who has stamina only for 50 minutes of play. Football is so physical these days...

Second save money on Subs on. I always go for the cheapest GK and a atleast 2 cheap "wild card" type pics for subs so i can spend more money on my main starting 11. Strikers/Attacking Midfielders will score you the most points, but do keep in mind a bad defense/keeper can cost you a lot of points. Other than that, every new season brings unkown. Last year Michu was the best pick you could ever have, so cheap at the start and went on to score ALOT of points. Finding the hidden gems early on can be the difference between having a good season or a bad one xD Oh and there is luck involved ![]() Use substitutes and wildcards WISELY ![]()

Breaking News! Real Madrid have made a world record bid of over £85m to Spurs for Gareth Bale, Sky Sports understands. The bid has been on the table for over a week and Bale is aware of it and is becoming more frustrated with the situation The bid does not include any Real Madrid players moving to Spurs as part of a package. Sky Sports understands Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is currently in Miami and that the club's stance - that the Wales international is not for sale - has not changed. Bale has so far kept his feelings to himself, making no public declaration about what he wants to happen next.

agree that persistence and luck is what makes players successful though, once you are above a certain threshold of talent (which is higher for midfielders and strikers than it is for defenders and goalkeepers) - two of those three players ended up having to stop playing cause of injuries, and the last one (who went to tottenham) stopped playing because (literal quote): every single other guy on the team was a giant fucking retard of monumental proportions who had no other thought than wanting to get laid and he couldn't possibly picture himself spending the next several years together with absolute idiots. he used to play bw and warcraft 2 with me and my brother and now he's a doctor. I guess come to think of it, they might have just been so outstanding because talent (at least used to be) much more scarce in norway than other countries ;p

"getting in at the youngest level of elite training is the key to becoming a professional athlete. Oftentimes this is due only to size, and may be a result of being born in the right month of the year such as right before an age cutoff for youth sports. Accruing the most hours of elite training is the single most important factor in making it at the elite level in any profession and that is achieved most easily by starting exceptionally young." He goes on to say that 10,000 hours of completely focused training is the benchmark to become truly elite at anything.

This one time he beat the last defender by sprinting past him and once around him had a one on one situation with the keeper and he managed to do a rainbow flick over the keeper WHILE RUNNING and scored... i mean... even the referee was smiling at that one.

I think size matters significantly more in american sports than in football. In fact, all the three players I mentioned in my previous post, while natural athletes without a doubt, were smaller than average until they turned 15 or so. I do think that people born in january on average achieve more than people born in december though, regardless of field. (cept creating religions LOL)

Also I was born in december and in athletics that was such a huge disadvantage running against guys 11 months older. In my soccer club I didnt notice that quiet as much (could be because we were all equally terrible).

I'd wager that signing Suarez was Ivan Gazidis' idea. I also think it has to do with his loyalty to the current players at the club. You have Walcott, Giroud, Podolski, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Rosicky, Wilshere, Ramsey, and Arteta at the club currently, in any given game three of those guys are going to be on the bench (plus any players that become first-teamers this season, like Yaya Sanogo or Ryo). Wenger thinks those players between them have enough quality to win trophies, and that none of them deserve to be benched, especially for a new signing (which may also explain why players like Diaby keep getting a run in the side, rather than being sold and/or replaced by a new signing). In the end though, I'm sure that whatever happens, Wenger will do what's best for the club. He was born in the United States. Just did a quick search and you're defintely right. http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Island-vil-have-Aron-Johannsson-tilbage In this article Iceland wants Johansson back but here (http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Aron-Johannsson-vaelger-USA) he says he chooses USA ![]()
