EPTHe has a really big fundamentals problem for his position. I'd like to see him really work on them and become a player who doesn't have to dunk everything. Imagine the threat if he found his 'spot' on the floor he could pop 2's all day.

In a league with Ginobili, Fisher, Battier, Wade, and Harden? I think not. The thing is, he can't be elite when I don't think he is even top 5 at PF. And of the things he does well as a PF they are things that you could just as easily get elsewhere. | ||

Actually I have often wondered, what if the nba was run like football (soccer) clubs are run in Europe. No salary cap, no draft, only teams stacked with elite players. Of course you would have to reduce the size of the league to 15-20 teams. But the level of basketball played would be much higher, a pure joy to watch. Likewise If football in Europe was like the nba, there would be no FC Barca, Real etc like we know them. Messi would play with some scrubs because he would have been drafted by the bottom table club and would not be the legend he is today. But maybe it's just because the sports are different. In football, you need teammates as good as you to really shine and be performant as a team. In basketball, it's easier to get away with the star players / role players model. But still, I would love to watch a basketball league with only all-star players. | ||

I think the opposite of what you say happens in Europe would happen in the NBA. All of the specialists and role players would be squeezed out. Only the very best players could play so goodbye Tayshaun Prince, Bruce Bowen, DeAndre Jordan. There would be no Mario Chalmers or Danny Green in this new NBA. Also, there' little room for redundancy in this new NBA so if you're very good but at a stacked position, you might get stuck on a shit team with little room to get better. While All-Star type games are fun, there's a certain "too many cooks in the kitchen" syndrome that they can't quite overcome. There's only one basketball and, to me, a lot of the beauty comes from when everyone knows their role perfectly and they operate as one unit. | ||
