Massa was doing the whole slipstream for as long as possible and pull out to the inside and out break him. But it all went horribly wrong when Perez broke about a second and a half before Massa expected. A real shame for both drivers and lucky thier both O.K Rosberg must be mighty happy with the end result. I expected him to get swallowed up and finish way down but he (with the help of that struggling Perez shield) did a great job of keeping the other cars behind him and bringing home the wounded Mercedes in second. Those points could be crucial.

Same thing here: . No penalty for either driver. Same thing China 2013 (more aggressive from Perez). No penalty for either driver. Same thing Alonso-Coulthard 2003. No penalty for Alonso even though Coulthard needed to take evasive action. Same thing MSC-RSC-Da Matta (similar position as Vettel). No penalty for either Schumacher, even though Ralf needed to take evasive action, lost his front wing, and went of the track. In the latter 3, driver behind took evasive action, but car in front doesn't get a penalty. Massa didn't and Perez still gets a penalty. Ridiculous. Some more: Villeneuve pit exit in Suzuka 1997 when he went across the width of the track against Schumacher. No penalty for Villeneuve. Montoya in Austria 2001. Completely forces Schumacher off the circuit. No penalty. Sure there are plenty more example of what Perez did today without a penalty. Takagi took the brunt of the blame in the first one, even though what he did is almost exactly what Massa did today.

Tough luck to both of them, was looking forward to a really good result from either.

They both kind of jink towards each other, then Massa moves the other way and Perez keeps going, and they collide, but if you look at Vettel's line for the corner, Perez is way more to the left than Massa probably expected, and that might be what the stewards considered. Perez drove pretty eratically considering the normal line for the corner.

Perez dictates his racing line, not some arbitrary line that is chosen by a redditor. Since what Hill did to Schumacher in Canada 1998 (ignoring the swerving) is fair, since what Schumacher did to his brother in Suzuka 2003 is fair, since what Frentzen did to Hakkinen in France 1999 is fair, since what Schumacher did to Coulthard in Spain 1997 is fair, Since what Schumacher did to Hakkinen in Belgium 2000 is fair, Perez's move should be fair too. Perez had no reason to off his line unless he was trying to outbrake Vettel. Should say, Massa had no reason to assume that Perez would stay right while defending his position into a left turn, and therefore should have reacted to Perez's movements, not by turning into Perez's car.

I’ll be cheering anyone who isn’t Mercedes and within the Mercedes team it would be nice for Hamilton to pull a bit closer to Rosberg after this Grand prix. I also hope Schumacher regains enough of himself to live out a decent life. The old enemy fighting, pull through Schumacher.

Hamilton hasn't set a representative time as he spun Hamilton gets 9th because Hulkenburg had a time retracted for crossing a white line.

I don't see the Williams pair holding up the works Mercedes team for too long, but a 3rd/4th should be well withing their grasp if nothing weird happens.
