.... I'm watching people stream the campaign on twitch. This storyline so far is lolz. But since there are vods of that (and I get to skip forward when they have to repeat missions if I watch VODs...) I went to the gym anyway. Got a squat workout in. 100 lbs for 5/5/8 - felt SO DAMN HEAVY. I'm on spring break and I had midterms in every class last week, so I literally have nothing to do except eat, sleep, lift, stretch, and clean my apartment. Put six pounds back on, of the 15 I lost while sick. Damn my weight changes quickly. I've also noticed that my external rotators (or, I think it's them?) in my hips are extremely tight/tender - painful to the touch when I tried massage. my SI issue is more or less fixed (it comes out every other day, but it pops back in in 2-3 minutes) but I've still got something going on with my sciatic nerve - think it must be piriformis related, because it lessens (but doesn't go completely away) when I stretch/foam roll my glutes (and also when I extermally rotate my hips. hmmmmmmm.) I need to get a harder foam roller. Or a lacrosse ball. Messed around with snatches and overhead squats today too, just trying to get a couple of the positions right. Was almost not power snatching it by the end of my half-hour playing with them. Crossfit games here I come.

I think the idea is typically to do whatever routine you were previously doing at the same intensity and frequency, but with less volume since volume is the hardest of the three to recover from, and intensity is the most important to maintaining your muscle mass. edit: Of course this is theoretical/second hand because I've never even considered cutting on purpose in my entire life.

By that do you mean just going lighter than normal and eating much less?

Also, my lean bulk is going really well but I'd like to be shredded for a beach party that's coming up in 8 weeks. Going to start a cut in 4 weeks. Anybody wanna do this with me? Looking to end up around 8-9% or whatever it is to make all panties within a mile soaked. Could've done with some more mass but I think that'll stay for the next few years haha. GL, I started my cut like two weeks ago. If by "doing this with you" you mean whine like a bitch on this board im down. I dont change routine at all. Its just lifting on a calorie deficit. If I can get some hot yoga in on that too its great, but thats just fluff, all you need to do is change your diet. At best you'll manage to maintain your lifts, most likely they will drop down a bit. I actually think its good in that you gain a healthy perspective towards nutrients because you need to be able to perform and maintain bodily functions while "starving" yourself in doing that you can really feel what the diffrent macros do to you. But mostly its just a really stupid thing to do.

Are you always at low body fat or do you just not care about getting ripped for the ladies? ![]()

Keep going heavy as you can (thats intensity) and just as many days per week (thats frequency) but drop the total number of sets or assistance exercises (volume). Obviously you eat less.

Oh, I thought you meant weight when you said volume. So instead of having my lifting partner help me get some assisted bench press (for example) on my last set, I should just rack it?
