Definitely don't workout when you're sick. Friend of a friend did and ended up in a coma for six months -_-
did he fall into the lifestream
can we talk about ff8 instead, i'm playing that for like the 10th time on my psp atm yeeeah flying gardens and sorceresses...
anyway looks like i'm skipping the gym, not that it's that big of a deal
i dont see why we cant talk about it since we are staying at home today. you should read this link if you want some new spice for your ff8 playthrough http://squallsdead.com . i started playing it for the 2nd time a while back, got to the sorceress, then completely forgot about it until now. though today i have a new anime visual novel to have a look at, which i found translates to hentai game

I take it you had another playthrough fairly recently?
Friend is girly, something about the virus getting into her brain.

Ok sweet thanks
Also, whoo mine doppelganger!

I'd like to participate in this thread as well. I've been systematically training for about 1,5 years now, my goal is, currently, to train for a boxing match that is supposed to take place at the end of this year. Since I am already in the heaviest (and open-ended) weight class, I figure if I can put on some odd 3 kilograms until the end of this year, it won't be to my disadvantage. So, personal data is like this:
Age 29 Weight 99 Kilogram Height 1,99 m
So yeah, I basically work out 3 or 4 times a week using a 2-split push - pull plan. Looks like this
Unit A:
Bench (atm ~ 7 x 74 kg) Frontsquat (instead of normal squat - I train at home so its for security reasons. ~ 5 x 90 kg / 1x 110 kg) Shoulderpress (some 6x50 kg, though it keeps fluctuating pretty wildly)
Unit B:
Deadlift (~ 6 x 100 kg; guess I could do more but I had a bad tear in my back last year so I'm being cautious) Rowing (~12 x 60 kg) Pull ups both with wide (over-)grip and narrow (under-)grip
I don't follow a particular diet, but I look that I get enough carbs and protein. Current nutrition of choice is rice waffles, white beans, and lots (lots!) of milk. I usually kick some whey after training, and some creatine before, but no supps beside that. Strength training is usually done in 35 to 40 minutes, so afterwards I finish with some cardio.
So basically my goal until the end of this year is to pack a huge punch :D.
So much from me, I hope to have some interesting talks with you all!
Hmm, I haven't actually made a post about my goals, never really put much thought into it.
ym Age: 19 || Height: 169cm || Weight: 65kg Starting Date: 10/01/2012 || Goal Date: 31/12/2012 Goals: Putting on some weight (and height...) wouldn't be too bad, 70-75kg sounds good. I want to continue going to the gym consistently, what more can I ask for. I guess in quantity I'd want numbers like.. (3x5) Bench Press - 85kg OHP - 60kg Squat - 130kg (1x5) Deadlift - 130kg Nutritionally I don't really have any goals. I don't really care about food, although I have a huge sweet tooth, but I already stopped stuffing myself full of candy and soft drinks.. I don't like sleeping but it's necessary so I guess 8 hours a night would be a goal? misc: RAPE UNI, RAPE IT

I'm curious as to why you consider front squats safer than back squats.

Well, I guess the barbell is easier to drop doing front squats in case you lose your balance. I don't wanna end up with a ~ 100 kg barbell crashing down on my neck .

Squat high-bar, it's safer than front squatting imo because you can't dump the bar on your knees.

For most people, shouldn't the safety bars be above the knees?
I think the Front Squat is probably the safest way to squat. No way the weight ever falls on your knees. If it is too heavy, you will always fall forward and dump the weight in front of you. Your knees are never in the way.
I stick to back squat. Safety is a non issue as I use a cage and safety bars, and I have a major issue with the front squat hold. I can't hold a bar in front of me unless the weight is all on my arms, I've watched vids etc but haven't been able to rest a bar on my chest.
Pretty good workout today, got to lift with my friend competing in nationals and his coach from texas. Been hitting the bar too hard and bouncing back because of it, need to drive it up more. Put up 120kg snatch 140kg cj, missed 145 on the jerk 3 times, platforms were way too slippery and my back foot kept slipping out.
Might not be able to see dimsum lift wont get there till friday afternoon.

Work on flexibility. Theres a bunch of stretches like these you can do.
