Fuck you for not knowning I'm a beastly designer too. Funkie , y u no paintbrush anymore? Back feels a lot better after sleeping in a beanbag (i have a seven foot long beanbag at my apartment for drunk people) instead of my bed, and also taking fifteen ibuprofen in the mast twelve hours. massage after the ibuprofen feels good, but hurts like hell before it... so I guess its a muscle issue, and i'll work on more foam rolling and strengthening stuff whenever the pain goes down enough.

Are other non-squat movements painful? Trough experience I've found that the fastest way of recovering from pain in a particular movement is busting my ass doing other work that flushes blood to the muscle and corrects strength imbalances that lead to the injury. My lower back pain dissapeared by doing heavy front squats, good morning and zercher squats, while my lifelong shoulder problems are gone after 2 weeks of shoulder dislocations, high volume pull ups and heavy single/triples in the OHP. I'm also benching more than before, even though I bench 3 times every 2 weeks. Edit: lol this looks like brag, but wanted to get the point across. TLDR: Don't take time off unless u are crippled, find something else to do at the gym.

![]() I'd rather do a set of 30snatches than do a set of 1x5 Bench. And I shit you not, I stand by it. I'll get to work on some designs and post them here, or make a new thread, I'll see what fits us better, if anybody can find a cheap store on the interwebs that prints them (and ships internationally, and well, they do a good job) then we're up for a challenge :D

Flexion of the hip hurts a little, extension of the hip (or anything else that causes a glute / ham contraction) hurts like HELL. standing on my toes and squatting down (so that my quads take the whole movement) is the only way I can pick something up from below waist level. Any bending to the side hurts, but not as much as hyperextension. I can isometrically contract some of my low back muscles which actually makes it feel a little better but I can't even carry a textbook in my backpack, because that's too much load. I'll probably go to the gym and do pullups, bench presses, chest supported rows, and curls/tricep extensions, but that's just because I would hate not going, and I don't want to get out of the habit of going. those are really the only exercises I can think of to do. Bro-mode engaging.

I think it's just a continuation of the SI joint problems that I was having. I got my hip back in place, but the muscles were all kinds of screwed up afterwards. I've always had one leg stronger than the other, and the SI joint issue just resulted in a lot of pulled/strained muscles in my low back. Couple that whole thing with a poor sleeping position for one night, four days and nights of heavy drinking, and hours and hours worth of scrums at rugby practice (fuck second row) and apparently I fall to pieces. Posture is pretty good when standing, just a little bit of forward head position that I'm working on, but not good at all when sitting. I always do dynamic stretches before my workout. I've also been doing a lot of foam rolling, and we do static stretches before and after our practices. I don't do a lot of weighted core exercises, just the occasional (1x/week or so) weighted decline situps. Other than that I mostly stick to planks and side planks. If you have any specific suggestions, I'd try just about anything, because if I don't squat 300 pounds by the end of this year, I will pretty much be the worst lifter in the history of strength training. And I'll be really disappointed in myself and stuff, since I should have hit 315 back in... march. I did planks and side planks as well. For me, they seemed to help with my herniated disc. Not sure if it would help SI joint issues. Have you tried the back mobility exercises on eshlow's site? I think those helped as well. I know it sucks but maybe consider taking time off lifting/rugby for a few weeks until you feel better? If you keep pushing yourself over the line, you might cause irreparable damage.. I'd make an effort to improve your posture at all times, especially while sitting. Good luck with the 300 lb squat goal. I'll be resuming squat & DL after I get home from my vacation as well ![]()

That just made me remember I suggested a TLHF icon a while ago but never followed up on it. Sorry about that, I believe you had something there didn't you?
