Squat 125kgx6x3, FS 85kgx3x6, Good Morning 120kgx5x5 Clean and press 55kgx3x5, Incline BP 80kgx4x6, DB Side raises 7.5kgx7x5
Added weight on almost everything and took less time than last time. I feel like I should start training 4x week, cant because of exams next week though t.t. I wanna try to max at cleaning at some point, it would be really cool to know my clean max. Was also wondering whats the press/jerk ratio u guys have.
2-3 weeks before smolov oo, I still need to get a bit heavier. Once I get to 140kgx6x3 I could start smolov with 180kg 1rep max and survive it. I wanna get stronger but I dont wanna get fat, still I guess bulking/cutting is the best to do to get really ripped right?

Bulking/cutting is the most reliable way to get ripped. It's also the easiest because it really boils down to shifting between two cycles: eating a lot and not eating a lot. Body recomps are very hit or miss and tend to be extremely specific with your macronutrient and caloric intake...
From what I've read, Smolov is so intense a program that you can seriously eat like 4,000 calories/day and still lose body fat on it. Even if you do end up putting on a little fat it's well worth it in the end. 200kg squats are way harder to come across than six packs, which are basically just a dime a dozen.
Seriously. I teach high school and over half of my male students have six packs. It's stopped being something that impresses me .

You WANT the volume in that mid-range. - Drop to something lightish and do 2 sets of 5 reps. Your only goal is speed out of the hole. These should be rather light for you, like 40% to 65% of max. FAST!
I'm not working through a Miss tho. I'm just working through a "heavy" x1 :o.

Ya thats quite common among skinny high schoolers (what I remember from my friends), but just fades away at college. Skinny abs not good, muscle with abs is good. Anyways, I read this:
http://articles.elitefts.com/training-articles/war-at-the-rack-needs-formatted/
So I had to get to the gym to do fun liftting, i.e learn oly lifting.
Snatch: barbell x5x5, 30kgx3, 40kgx1, 45kgx1, 40kgx1x5 (lol im so bad at this, the snatch is easy but catching the weight is tough)
Cleans: 50kgx1, 60kgx1x2, 70kgx1x5
My depth on both catches is good though.
Random question: How on earth do you widen your grip after clean to jerk? When I move my hands apart my shoulders buckle down and the barbell crashes my clavicle.
|
Are you trying to move it after it's on your shoulders? Dabaya does that, dunno how he does it though, it's pretty sick that the barbell doesn't fall off and it looks so smooth and awesome. + Show Spoiler +
Most people just pop it off their shoulders after the clean, it's a pretty natural movement, don't even need to think to do it. You move your hands during the air time. + Show Spoiler + Aramnau can pop the bar above his head, lol. It's pretty ridiculous.
If it's a grinder clean, though, sometimes you kinda just gotta bend your knees again and pop it up manually.

I just watched Better, Stronger, Faster (it's really long, 11 parts to it).
So depressing. Also did a bit of searching on the web and, apparently, all of the strongman guys are on Steroids too. That's what my ultimate aim has always been, to be like the guys in World's Strongest Man which I used to watch when I was younger; log pressing massive wooden logs, deadlifting cars, picking up enormous atlas stones, doing bench press with car axles.
And yeah apparently they don't even test for steroids in it. Not that it matters as according to that documentary they're all on it anyway and it's not detectable, and I don't think it was just bullshit as Matt Kroczaleski said it was "a very honest look at it".
I find it really disappointing. I guess I was naive but that doesn't change it.

i cant decide how i feel about steroids
i keep being given the impression that its like getting a tattoo - you get branded for life, you can never take back the fact that you used them, and a lot of people think differently about you nomatter how you feel about it yourself

I had basically the same discussion about this with myself today (have these a lot after bad workouts -.-). Besides the obvious risks, I feel if I would take only once, everytime someone would ask me how I became strong and if I took steroids, I would have to say yes. And it would only be a lazy short-cut, since I am not gonna become a serious strenght athlete or bodybuilder during this lifetime. On top of that the worst thing for me is that I am basically training since one year only to get weaker and weaker. I dropped sooo ridiculously much weight over the last 16 months, and at least I cannot seem to do anything to make a caloric deficit work. I broke deadlift PRs every week when I lost only 10kg, but over the long run nothing really works. So basically every gym session is kind of frustrating. At least it helps that I am making constant progress on bodyweight exercises, but that's about it what keeps me going. Worst part is, you can't judge if the way you train is effective, because if it doesn't work it is most likely just missing calories. But with all that frustration, thoughts about steroids come really easy. I am pretty positive that I will never take any, but it is frustrating when you look at the progress of others around you who are taking. I guess I kind of needed to vent a little bit today. Well, I assume 3-4 months left in this deficit hell if everything goes as planned. And hopefully the doctor I am seeing next week can help me with my stupid quadricps-injury, so that I can at least really squat and deadlift again. It just won't go away. ARGX.

Tattoo's have laser surgery to remove then.
Stereoids..do not?

yeah well ANYWAY ... ;p
idk i think it probably boils down to a case of "wanting it too much" maybe. you should never NEED ANYTHING so much as to rub against any doubt you have in your mind. you should feel fulfilled in life just with the journey of what you are doing and not some particular result that we all know is as temporary as the air we breathe in the end anyway.
for me and malinor, the journey really starts once we have stabalised our lifestyles and begin the real road that we want to be walking

I get what he means. Yes things like ball shrinkage reverse, but I think Malinor put it best when he said that when people ask how he got strong and if he took steroids, he'll have to say he took steroids and that's what people will put it down to.
I think steroids are fine for say bodybuilding, it's their body so who am I to judge. I just personally would want them nowhere near competitive sport.

Anyone who is competitive in competitive weightlifting takes roids. You won't be competitive without them.

The thing you have to ask yourself is which audience do you want to impress (if any), other than yourself?

Ah well, in the end I am a firm believer that if you train hard and smart, then you will get a nice body as a result of it, just not necesarily your dreambody, whatever that maybe. Stupid genetics and such. For pure asthetic reasons, if anyone believes that anyone but you really recognizes the difference between your 16 1/2 or a 17inch biceps, they are just mistaken. The competitive aspect is another matter, but for pure asthetics it doesn't do anything what hard training couldn't do. And holy cow, some of these powerlifters (just watching the Better,Stronger,Faster-movie on youtube) have god-awful bodies, and not only the heavyweight ones. There are bulges and muscles in the strangest places, swollen bellies and such. I actually like to look normal.
Besides that, I enjoyed part 9/11 about supplements a lot + Show Spoiler +. Pretty interesting and hilarious stuff.

Damn, new benchpress record in reps 1x5 on 110kg pretty fine, since my personal record 1rm are 120kg.
Tested on 130kg, but didnt go( but were so close!) So atleast in 1 week, it should come up!
Stay Strong!

My problem with roids is they have side effects. I wouldn't consider trying them unless I was on the pinnacle of powerlifting and preparing to break a world record, previously stablished by a fellow juicer. And prolly after I failed multiple times to break it naturally and/or was approaching the age where it was now or never.
I also hate the double standard on elite weightlifting/powerlifting/bodybuilding. Everyone should just admit they are juicing and stablish proper measurement and safety measures accordingly.
@liyasakura
Thanks, I get now I should move my hands as I stand up. I tried doing what the black guy does (sliding my hands through the bar instead though). I don't get how u on earth he can let go and re grab it.

Shoulder was sore all day (not DOMS sore, pain sore) so I guess I won't be going back to benching any time soon.
Time to get a bigger OHP I suppose.
This is my 1500 TL post, and I am a reaver now, but this post is an excuse. Fuck everything that I stand for.
