Smart Pistol is a retarded idea for a PC game. And Titan AI is stupid. I don't like playing in a Titan, it's slow, cumbersome and just not as fun as jetpacking around killing things. I just think both Titans and pilots are too squishy. As a pilot you get oneshot by any of the Titan attacks, as a Titan you get blown up very easily. Plus the vector shield thing you can use to reflect projectiles doesn't work half the time.
I don't see this game making it competitively, at least not the way it is right now. I don't think it'll ever be competitive. I mentioned earlier that the game is simply too fast paced. It's one thing to have mobility, it's another to allow people to travel across the map in like 5 seconds. It makes it hard to put any real strong strategic strength in any area. In an organised game, it seems that you have a very fluid battlefield. The rapid concentration of strength means that in theory the game strongly rewarding organised play, both rapidly converging on a point and also rapid ambushes. The problem is likely that the aggressive side will have a very strong first-mover advantage, and teams will likely not be organised enough to properly respond to threats (like how teams in LoL before just died to Shen splitpush because no one had any coordination).

They could have just as easily slowed down movespeed, while keeping the fluidity of movement.
Also, it sort of bugs me how agile Titan's are, they don't feel mech like at all, they just feel like large player with bigger guns,

So it actively rewards you for using Titans and allows you to quickly reacquire them (which can be made even faster).
I don't know much about fps so I don't think I'm qualified to comment any further about whether any of this is good or bad.

I don't know why people are talking about a game from ex-CoD developers being competitive.
They're not stupid, they know what their history entails as far as a target audience and "hardcore competitive play" doesn't fit that target audience.

Now I sorta want to make a Urban version of Dota/LoL map, except it's a FPS with creep spawn, and stuff.

Well no, the original discussion that MB is piggybacking off of very much was discussing whether the game would be competitive. Which is not a word I would ever use to discuss what is essentially an Infinity Ward game.

7 minions on the board, and the enemy Ragnaros targets my hero for the kill.
Boooo RNG.

Movement is a really subjective subject in FPS community. Basically you have your people who like the 'slow' movement style of CS, maybe with a short sprint like CoD, and then you have people who like Quake 3 style movement, and then you have people who like old ass Quake/CPMA movement, and all the shit in between every level.
I can't comment about specifics to Titanfall because I haven't played or watched it yet only heard comments. Map size/layout plays an immense role in how movement meshes with the game and how good it feels. I've heard that the Titansfall maps are pretty large and have a lot of vertical space, so it sounds like fast movement very much fits the game. How 'tough' a player is should also be a consideration with movement as well. Super fast/mobile players that kill eachother very quickly has its niche(Instagib servers had decent popularity in UT and Quake) but it's not typically a friendly game mode that will attract a giant audience, and it wouldn't lend itself well to a competitive environment either.

The difference is with Quake, you can zone really effectively in choke points, but the speed + mobility in Titan fall seems overwhelming, making it impossible to zone, also the AI are super easy to kill, and almost seem to make minimal impact, so they don't really give any defensive positioning as well.

I finished it, but my thoughts are basically the same as Soniv's. In fact, the ending was a giant bag of wut? I almost wish I had just stopped watching it after I got my fill of Anna Kendrick being ridiculously cute.

God I just raged over Yggdra Union really hard. I was on the Pantina level where I had to defeat the emperor...
After defeating so many minibosses and minions and finally got the emperor to less than 1k morale, he somehow caught my Yggdra and killed her with the I-win-automatically card... now I need to play this again from the beginning...
Close to 1 hour wasted on this one level. I quit

Req I'm here where are you
Just kidding I sincerely hope the universe has conspired to give you a great evening. Even if I'm not there to crash it.

Just had the most fucking intense CS:GO match. Was on Vertigo, started as CT. Terribad teammates (go figure right? LoL's wood level bad). Go 8 : 7, even though map is fucking CT biased as fuck, cuz dumbass teammates keep rushing chokepoints, rather than defend them (which is super ez to do on this map, SUPER CT biased as fuck map). Okay, go to T, decide to fucking MAN up, tell teammates to all Rush certain points. K so on T side, we go 7 : 7 somehow, last round. I rush B side, NO CT at all, rest of my team dies at A. I fucking PRO 90 gun down all 5 CT's, to tie up the fucking game. at 15 a piece.
FUCKING INTENSE.
