-There'd be more teams so more visibility for the whole event,

- It takes too much time to get on top of the ladder because of the low activity on the 2v2s scene itself.

Edit: regarding all this streamcheating talk, there is a very simple option of putting a delay in the stream. Easy as that. About maphackers, I don't know. One would have to see if anything curious happened. I wish there was a way to prove you're not maphacking. I'm sick of ppl calling others maphackers because they lost.

Some pro players do play 2v2's, I have over 800 random wins in team games and I probably play around 100-150 2v2 games each SC2 season. As far as tournament format goes, invite only in 2v2 (undeveloped community) would be bad idea imo. Either invite 4-8 teams and have 4-8 teams coming from qualifiers or just make it an open bracket.

The latter stages of the tournament should be really interesting though, since there are pretty much no 2v2 tournaments you never really get to see BO3-5-7 series between top teams...sure they bump into each other on ladder a bit but thats not the same. It would be nice if this worked as an incentive to get the good players back to activly playing 2v2 again, if even just for a few weeks, getting top ranks just doesn't feel like an achievement anymore.

After some feedback, I've decided an open tournament would be better. Thank you for responses, hope to get some great players involved

on the other hand i dont think its a bad thing if u can be hyped for some favorites who seem to have a good shot for winning the whole thing. at least better than having some random completely unkown players taking it. because having some of the more established players win would rather show that 2v2 actually takes skill and not luck or some random imba strategy ![]()

You will see maphackers, stream cheaters bad casters and a lot of "1v1 all stars" with no interest in 2v2 or the 2v2 community except competing for a few dollars. Even so, there will be a lot of not very good teams, and very inexperienced teams just like the PTSL. If i am not participating in the event (casting or playing) i will genuinely be shocked if anything impresses me in this tournament. Judging by your own post elsewhere you're 15 and this pretty much sums up this post. I have no idea who you are or why you think there are very few "good" teams or why you come off so condescending to everyone in this thread. There are some VERY good EU teams, of which have pro 1v1 players on them. There are some very good NA 2v2 teams as well.. such as mystik and power, catz and his partners, imbacoaching and his partners, and many others. Just take a look back at the 2v2 weekly on z33k @_@;; If you don't "expect" a lot then don't support it but to post as if everyone else is going to hack cheat and so on is in very bad taste. To beasty: The problem with inviting/having random 1v1 players in a "competitive" 2v2 tournament which is supposed to foster creative 2v2 games it's more of "pros" just attempting to "get free" money by playing in an event/part of the community they really couldn't care less about. As another has mentioned, if you're actually playing 2v2 then that's great. I think Baz is attempting to fund something over a long period of time and help the 2v2 scene grow in a way that is helpful to growing a competitive sub-scene, not just some one-off tournament. At least that's what I got from his OP. I lol'ed at the protech comment. + Show Spoiler + typed this really fast, pls forgive

I totally agree on the fact if we want to help the 2v2 community would have been nice to not let the 1v1 pros who don't know anything about 2v2 to participate. Kyo is pretty much on top of things here. (whereas I am very surprised by TT1 words :o) There have been some high level 2v2 Tournament where there were pro 1v1 koreans who tried 2v2 and get wrekted by Lille/Night, Power/Mystic,... so lets move on please. Please don't mind ProTech/PureLegacy trolls. Sadly enough ProTech hurts a tons the 2v2 community BUT it would be nice to have him here for his name and level (and also just cauz he doesn't stop repeating he would never come to any tournament, he has done everything and he is the best ; and watching him make a fool of himself is always nice). IMHO, On the other side, yes you should def not allow bm kids such as baltiwhore and frutinoob. Not because I might loose to them, because once again they are bad for the community, and THIS tournament has just 1 goal have fun and grow the 2v2 scene. FOXDaRa Edit : typo

Known cheaters is a different matter entirely, or if you set up rules for the tournament (no insults on stream, etc) and they are broken. But disqualifying someone from the tournament for things he did before the tournament and within the rules, that seems strange. If you don't want BM in the tournament, then set up rules against it, and enforce them. But otherwise it'll be dangerously close to inviting people that you are on friendly terms with, which ofc isn't good for anyone.

When one very nice guy decide to share his 300$ for the sake of the 2v2 community, if thats isn't right here that you someway somehow "punish" the BM kids(just by not letting them enter the tourney), where the hell will they be ? Why the hell would they ever stop and being adults and nice people ? Just like people saying "who cares about stupid hackers anyways", when there is 300$, if you don't start caring here, when will you ?! Since bnet wont stop them, why couldn't we try to do something instead of whining cauz Blizzard doesn't react to maphacker as we would like they do.
