It's kinda weird... Ima explain a bit my vision of things, since everyone love reopen 'closed topics' : some trashtalk here and there isn't BM. BM is when you can not show a minimum of education and respect. When I get insulted on ladder, I block the guy and never see it again, its ok, I can live w/ that. When the guy harass you on bnet, irc, skype, mails, TL,... for days and weeks w/o reason, resume gently asked pause, talk shit on your back on public events/streams/... this is what I call BM. + Show Spoiler + BM is for example what happened first time I met these kids on ladder : - DaRa : PP DaRa paused the game (my cat just puked on me) Frutinoob resumed the game - Frutinoob : Ask before pausing fucking noob - DaRa : well I am sorry but PP means Pause Please, so please wait 30sec DaRa paused the game Frutinoob resumed the game. - DaRa : ffs can't you wait 20sec - Baltiwhore : stfu trash
So yeah, when you met some guys from the first time in these conditions and get BMed for absolutely no reason. Yeah I think I can call them that way right ? If you disagree, and still think it is your business please PM me.
Now please lets stop OT stuff, I explained my point, if Baz or you guys disagree, I am not gonna cry and I'll survive. Lets move on please.

Well, it may be too late now. But as i alrdy said it would be nice if the participating teams are either giving a link to their battle net profile to baz (nvm if they do that anyway) or post them openly on their team page (on challonge).
I would also go further than declining only barcodes. I'd also say smurf accounts are not allowed. (Even if its hard to draw the line here of course but it in some cases it may be clear.) It's just that name faking in general (or lets say anonymity) is something that doesnt benefit a tournament.
Its kinda hard to follow all the weird nicks and having to find out whos actually who as a viewer (because if u dont know whos who its kinda boring to watch random names play each other). Plus if players dont act according to rules they should at least not be able to hide behind a fake nick. Thats all im trying to say. If thats easily to enforce, i cant say (Since ofc ppl can just say they are changing their nick like underwear. But they at least should have a main battle net ID/account i guess.)
I just want to give attention to that. This tournament doesnt have to be perfect in all terms, so nevermind if its too much trouble or u watch what happens and consider it myb for the next one.
Actually im afraid i dont even know how this thing is handled in other (non top tier) tournaments. Since in bigger tournaments the anonymity isnt an issue because all players are known or even have their own liquipedia page (like in PTSL or bigger 1v1 events).

Agreed ! Yes, sounds very reasonable. One way to enforce it would be to ask for all akas at start of tournament, and saying that the price money will not be paid if it turns out that they were hiding.

More good points, how hard would this be to enforce? I could ask all I want but people can just lie and then more time needs to be spent investigating each player. I am going to go through all the teams probably a week before tournament and review some teams that have been accused of hacking/cheating.
I'm not crazy about this challenge site. No link bnet accounts, only one person needs to sign up and I don't know how to set a closing date on registrations. Don't know if I'll use this site for the next tourney.
Thanks for continue feedback, hoping to get more than 19 teams signed up. Come join people, you don't need to win tournament to get paid

I alrdy went through all teams by now and recognize like 30-40% of the names. Maybe thats because not all of them are/were on top of the ladder which is totally ok. But it could also be that u dont recognize names aswell (because you dont know them or they may be made up). Then u cant make the decision if hacker or whatever. But i dont mind, its ur tournament and we shall see
For me personally its just interesting if it would be possible to check the players main battle net ID's and see 1) of which caliber they are and 2) who they may actually be. Same for the possible casters who should be interested in who the players actually are they are casting and same for the viewers who want to know whom they are watching.
Of course u cant force everyone to do that. But expecting transparency (and at least the majority of ppl doing so) could drive possible (general rule) violators into a smaller corner and would make for a better viewer experience imo

I've updated main page with new info.
Biggest update is that the registration site has changed. To all the teams that had already signed up on the challenge site, please go and re register on binary beast. Sorry for this change.

I just checked. Could it be that its not possible to see the individual players signed up at a team on binary beast? Maybe i just yet didnt found out how tho^^

Is there a reason why old country is the only map from the current ladder pool thats not in the tourney?
|
Is it ok if just one of us signs up for the team on binarybeast?
|
remove crooked maw and preservation LE from the map pool and add Graystone Ravine and Old Country... nobody wants to play crooked maw or preservation..... cmon Baz :p
|
I'd rather not play old country, that map is so hard to scout whats going on.
