Winner's league format is so much better--at least, GSTL has had a lot better games than proleague has had so far.
You really, like REALLY think that winners league is better than this format? I mean, sure, its your opinion. But... I just dont understand.

october 20th 2012, JYP played his last game in GSL CODE S. JYP is only 4pts in FPL. its the best FPL pick in my opinion. he did so well for slayer in GSTL

New wonky maps throw strategies out the window, and everything is reduced to gimmicks. As long as there is no metagame, there is no strategic depth. Just because your sub par foreigners can't prepare and adapt doesn't mean a map shouldn't be played. This is how PL has always been, maps in fact add to the strategic depth. Not when the metagame is thrown out the window. especially when the metagame is thrown out of the window. No, strategic depth is developed when existing strategies are played out in relation to new ones. This generates the layers of strategy that constitutes the metagame. When the metagame is non-existent, everything is gimmick, and strategy is shallow. There is no depth. Lol, this is funny. let's just keep making GSL formula maps and play that all day. So you're implying that every non-GSL map do not allow the metagame to play out? That is ridiculous, new maps are fine. Not wonky maps though, not for a legitimate competitive game. Oh please stop with the metagame thing. I don't want to see the same shit every game and it's obvious these new maps are being well received. Watch some games on the map before you say if doesn't produce competitive games. Sure, if all you're interested in is entertaining games. A competitive RTS is more about entertainment, there is supposed to be a developed strategic skillset involved. That's what keeps it interesting in the long run anyway. This is so close to wrong. A real-time strategy game should also reward intuitive, improvised responses to unfamiliar situations. The current 'metagame' that you so seem to love is as much executing your pre-existing plan than actually employing much strategy on the fly.

Mindlessly doing the exact same cookie cutter build every single game on every single map is not a developed strategic skillset. Here we see those who prepare for a map, come up with their own strategies, actually adapt and play smart are those who do well.

I wonder if JYP will try phoenix DT on this map again like he did vs HyuN. it was an interesting game but he ended up losing to the hive army because he spent too much money on harassing units and not enough on a real army
