usually with hero, whenever he loses no matter how good the game is, hero fans downvote it
I don't think hero fans watch proleague
Barely anyone watches pro league, based on this twitch viewercount I'm getting.
more people are watching this live than any of the GSL nights where they broadcasted on twitch.
GSL is only ~10k right? or was it actually less on twitch
maybe 14k at most, most of the time 10-12k.
Most people that buy the GSL pass actually watch vods because we dont like staying up at night. Gom has a great vod system + you can choose what matches you want to see depending on how much time you have. =]
Proleague vods are even free, so more people will watch vods definitely.
When are people going to realize Proleague is an entirely different beast of competition. Nothing can compare to the preparation players do for ONE specific map against a specific player. It's beautiful.

Why would you put JYP on your fantasy team?
he's pretty cheap and did reasonably well in GSTL back when Slayers and EG were partnered up and was in code s not too long ago at all. i'm not FPL expert by any means but he seems an okay pick to me

Metagame does make the maps. And differences should be subtle.
New wonky maps throw strategies out the window, and everything is reduced to gimmicks. As long as there is no metagame, there is no strategic depth.
Just because your sub par foreigners can't prepare and adapt doesn't mean a map shouldn't be played. This is how PL has always been, maps in fact add to the strategic depth.
Not when the metagame is thrown out the window.
especially when the metagame is thrown out of the window.
No, strategic depth is developed when existing strategies are played out in relation to new ones. This generates the layers of strategy that constitutes the metagame. When the metagame is non-existent, everything is gimmick, and strategy is shallow. There is no depth.
Lol, this is funny. let's just keep making GSL formula maps and play that all day.
So you're implying that every non-GSL map do not allow the metagame to play out? That is ridiculous, new maps are fine. Not wonky maps though, not for a legitimate competitive game.
So the "metagame playing out" = the same strategies on every single map. Right. Please go away and let us have an interesting game.
his socalled metagaming is so good that 60% of the normal LR thread are whining. Meanwhile we enjoy some cool mutabling actions on cool maps. Life is good

Why are you so against different trends on different maps? There is no reason the trends (you call it metagame) should be the same in every match and new trends only develop in response to standard play. There is a lot of depth in having to play different styles to take advantage of maps.
I'm not denying that, all I'm saying that a prerequisite for a legitimate map for a competitive game is one where the metagame is allowed to play out. This can happen on new maps, with new and different features. But not on maps such as arkanoid, where the majority of strategies are useless.
Players can prepare for their matches on Arkanoid well in advance. If they were thrown in blind perhaps you'd have a point.
Also @ Effort's MLG results vP. Not bad! Were all of those games actually played though? I know there were a lot of forfeits.

Shine some light on that for us plz, is there some TV ratings for proleague available right now? Definitely not as good as BW proleague, but plz don't be horrible.
Its broadcasted on tv in SK. Viewership there is what funds this. The online viewing is nothing to them. 5$ for a year lol, shows how much they care.

Not really. Winner's league format is so much better--at least, GSTL has had a lot better games than proleague has had so far.
Despite what statistics indicate, I think I'm going with Effort in this game. I've seen Effort play for so long, and I know that if JYP has the slightest weakness or loophole in his playstyle, Effort will just hammer it.

Maybe but apart from EG-TL games and hard core fans I doubt many other match's will get great views atm.
